Question about 1993 Ford Econoline

1 Answer

1993 Ford 250 Econoline wouldn't start. I tried to jump it with good cables and a 250 truck. Nothing. 3A came and jumped it without a problem and said the battery was bad. Bought a top replacement withh 850 CC amps and it still didn't atsrt. Trickle charged it for 1 hour and it started. Let it trickle charge overnight and it wouldn't start in the morning. Just clicks. No ODB connection. Thanks.

This really sounds like a corroded connection, somewhere. I would look for loose or damaged connections, EVERYWHERE.

1990 Ford E150, 5.8L 351 engine. When driving long distance I will stop and get gas. I shut the engine off and the battery will not have enough juice to start the car and I need a jump to start the van. ...

have you had the battery tested this could be the problem.if it was the charging system you wouldn`t be able to drive the car very far or at all as it would die from not charging from a jump start.you could have bad cable connections for the battery at the terminals and were the cables attach to the motor.just follow the ground wire from the battery down to were it fastens to the motor.pull on the cable as sometimes the cables go bad inside the insulation and can`t be seen.if the cable is bad internally then it will feel soft and move were the break is.do the same with the positive cable.check the connections and how clean the surface is were the cables attach.

1993 ford lincoln town car , when you turn the key it has power but when you turn the key to ignition all goes dead?

could be any number of faults but the most obvious to me is a flat bettery try giving it a jump start with some proper cables and them made in china things ,they are only good for a boost charge not a jump start ,cables must be capable of passing at least 200amp current

1987 Ford Econoline motorhome, sometimes key turns and nothing happens but starts fine with jump leads, keep on turning the key and eventually it will start. Can anyone shed any light please

Sure, CLEAN your battery cables - ESPECIALLY the bottoms. The bottoms are exposed to grease, road grime and when covered in "gunk" causes resistance. When you jump start or hit key multiple times, cables heat up and expand making better contact. Advise - clean ALL cable ends

Nothing happens when I turn the key

The battery is dead, or the battery cables are loose. Try adjusting/tightening the battery cables first. If that doesn't work, the battery is dead or just discharged. Try to find someone that will give you a jump. Good luck.

I had to jump start my 82 ford econoline. does this blow most of the fuses in the fuse box. my after market radia has stopped working

No not usually. It's high current flow that blows fuses and unless you put more than 12-14 volts onto the battery no harm could be done. However if you accidently reversed the polarity (put the cables on back to front) then you would cause damage to the alternator diodes and the battery would drain back though them. If the radio was switched on at time of jumping, it would be damaged.

Turn the key and not even a click, checked the starter, the battery and cables and relay, all ok has 460 and is a 4sp manual, has power to the soliniod and nothing coming out to starter cable, replaced it and...

check your coil it could be bad. does it jump start? have the alternator tested. If it jump starts disconnect battery and if truck dies then alternator is bad. Best way to test is auto parts store hwever.

Car wont start, acts like battery is dead. battery shows full charge. full lights, buzzers, etc. put it on charger-didnt start...cleaned cable connections-didnt start...tried to jump with truck-didnt...

Check the battery +12v power connection to the starter is in good order,
Check the ground connection between the battery negative and the engine/starter motor is robust and intact.
If no problem with above, replace the starter motor.
