It loosens counter-clockwise, you will need an Air Impact gun to get it loose, have done these.

Audi a4 v6 changed timing belt now can't start no power


The timing must be off. There is a crank lock that must be installed when changing the belt and also a holding "jig" that holds the cams in place while you are changing the belts. Also the cam pulleys must be separated and free from the cam shafts when installing the belt and tensioning in order for the engine to be timed correctly.

the procedure of aligning all the timing marks before removing the belt will be the same . The necessity of not moving crank and cams without the belt being connected is still relevant. How ever there are some differences as to tensioning the belt and timing balance shafts . The biggest killer of rubber belts is oil so the oil seals (Cams shaft/ crank shaft should be also replaced and hydraulic tensioner if you have one). Idler pulleys do as much work as the belt so replacing them to replace the bearings is also a good move. . To come up to speed as to the differences a workshop manual for your vehicle is strongly recommended.

Leaking


il can leak at the timing belt from cam shaft seal ,crank shaft seal and hydraulic belt tensioner. Have them all replaced as well as the belt as oil is the main destroyer of rubber timing belts.

Timing belt replacement


At it's simplest description- you remove everything that sits in front of the timing belt path, which is usually the serpentine belt, and main pulley on the crank shaft, removing the covers over the belt, then lining up the number one cylinder timing mark on the crank shaft and camshaft locations, the old belt is removed by removing tension from the tensioner, engines vary as to how that is accomplished, but it is largely a variation on a theme. the old belt slipped off, the new belt slipped on, the timing marks checked, and then reassembly inthe reverse of how it came it apart.

Details will differ between the different engines but at it;s simplest, this is the basic process.

I have 1996 Dodge Advenger ES changed the timing belt, now can't get fire. Changed distributor, rotary button, wires, plugs. Can you help me get fire?


check and be sure you didn't turn the cams when changing the belt, and that the crankshaft to cam timing is right.

What is a drive belt on a nissan pulsar, i was told on a mechanics list that it should be repaired immediately, i was wondering if i can do it myself!


Drive belt is a term used by some mechanics for the timing belt, which is usually replaced every 100,000km, less on some vehicles. It is the main belt which drives the cam shaft and the crank shaft in there correct sequence. You need to make sure all timing marks, on crank and cam shaft are aligned correctly when replacing it. I would not recommend doing this yourself as it can be costly (bending valves) if it is not installed correctly.

Location of a sensor


Replacing a CPS can be easy or hard. On the 2002 Gallant 2.4, it is located behind the timing belts. Removal of the main pulley, the covers and the belts is required. This isn't as hard as it sounds and is essentially the same as changing the timing belts.

Timming belt


hi the balance shaft has to set by removing the bolt in the engine block that is in line with the front of the balance shaft the get a 6mm bolt that is 100mm long slide it into the hole where you revoved the bolt turn the balance shaft keeping a slight pressure on the bolt until it locates the hole in the shaft and locks it up then if you look at the oil pump there is a mark on the top of the housing and the oil pumps shaft just line them up stick your belt on tension and remove the locking bolt yates210456

How do i change my crank sensor


pretty easy it has one ten mm bolt holding it down ethier on the trasmmision side (bellhousing) or on the belt side near the crankshaft (main belt pulley) it will have a single thick black lead coming off it and this should turn into a three wire plug it may be located under the crank shaft pully and would require you remove the belts and the pully and if so you would need a stong impact gun or honda crank pully holder and a breaker bar i would look here first i think it is behind there, unplug and unbolt this and make sure if there are any shims or spacers under it that they go back how they were i am assuming you have no spark? or an intermittin stall situation?

1996 Volkswagon Jetta Timing Belt replacement Procedure


there are 3 thing need to be fixed first the top timing belt pully should be between o.t so should be on . between o.t and secondremove the distrubuter cap it should be one mark 1 which is pointing on block and 3rd is crank shaft should adjust on 0 which you will find on the gearbox there is a green ruber cap remoce it and turn the main crank shaft u will find mark on the frywheel 0.
