You have a bad battery. If the alternator tests good and the battery will not charge that means that the battery has a bad cell in it. If a cell goes bad it will not take a charge. If you test it it will read good though.

I recommend you replace the battery first.

97 Grand am 3100 not charging

You need a 12v test light to make sure the alternator is getting the signal to exite the stator and that there is a good connection to the battery at the main post.

1994 f150 new alternator tested good, but no charging, truck dies when battery disconnected.

make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. If battery is down use a charger and get it charged up. Was the charging system tested on the vehicle? Everything off, key off, check voltage at generator bat terminal, hot all the time. You can use test light to check for voltage. If no voltage, have to check fusible link and that wire circuit. See the charge indicator circuit, that is excite voltage, w/o that, the generator won't charge. Just my opinion. The diagram may not be large enough to see wire colors? I'll check on location of that fusible link, you could track the wiring circuit.

Hyundai i 30 2013 but not charging baterry good and alternator only good how fixing

There is either a fuse or fusible link from the alternator to the battery. Look in the main fuse box in the engine bay. The fuse is likely 50A or 80A. You can test the charging capability by temporarily running a 12 gauge wire direct from the alternator post to the battery. There is also some heavy gauge wires that connect to the +ive battery post, along with the approx 8mm wire for the starter motor. Check for loose or corroded connections. If all the above are OK, you will need to a multimeter to check the circuit from the alternator to the fuse box to the battery.

The car is having power drained somewhere. Check for an electrical short or some kind of "on" power source. Good Luck!!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Battery is good, had alt checked, its good, still not charging

Assuming that the checks you had done are in fact correct, then the most likely problem would be a bad fusible link in the charging line from the alternator to the battery. The easiest way to test this is to remove the red wire that is bolted to the rear of the alternator and check for voltage there )(on the wire). It should read the battery voltage level. If is is zero volts, or a very low voltage as compared to the battery, then the fusible link in the line is either severed or very close to it. A shop can find and replace the link at a reasonable cost. A DIYer can do it also, providing he can find the link location. Fusible links are installed in these lines to act as protection for the battery and alternator under high current conditions. Fusible links can also crack and break from excessing flexing and age.

Battery not charging. had charging system tested. all okay except alternator. removed alternator and had tested. replaced alternator. system still not charging.

Check the connections and the fusible link. A fusible link is an inline fuse in the wiring. You will need a multimeter to test and troubleshoot. Check that when the ignition is on, that you are getting 12 volts to the lead to the alternator. The ignition switch controls turning on the charging system.

Good luck, jim

My son jumped 1998 neon backwards now won't charge, already changed alternator.

Check main fuses to the alternator, there are also fusible links and one may have blown.

Not charging

Possibly a fusible link somewhere in the circuit has burned through and disconnected the circuit.A wiring diagram would be needed to look for the location of any fusible links Ohms check the wires involved in the alternator charging circuit to verify continuity.
