The P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why. The reasons could be any of the following which you need to check one by one:

  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer

Please let me know if you need any further instructions.
Thank You

My 1996 honda accord lx did not pass smog due to

these codes indicate there is a miss fire on cylinders 1 and 2 hence the 0301 and 0302 code the 1300 just indicates multiple engine miss fires. so anything that can cause these cylinders to miss fire need to be attended to in order to fix your problem.

2006 jeep liberty once I hit second gear it vibrates

multiple code issue (evaporative, catalyst efficiency, and miss fire)doubtfull all 1 source of error but draw attention to the miss fire code PO300 is a random cylinder miss fire, possible crank position or cam position sensors.but i would check timing first.

When my car is ran on computer is has cose PO300 PD. What does this indicate?

DTC P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.

A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire.

Hope this helps.

2000 saab 9-5 missing really bad starts well just missing code that was read is P0300 please any help?

Hi there,

A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a "random" or "multiple" misfire.

Unfortunately, P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinders are mis-firing, nor why (code P0301 would indicate cylinder #1; P0302 would indicate cylinder # 2 etc). This means there could be an issue with any number of components/circuits relating to the ignition/combustion circuits.

I would recommend you check for the following:

  • Faulty spark plugs and/or HT leads
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor

Sometimes the underlying cause of a random misfire is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold, unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or even an EGR valve which is stuck open.

Hope this helps...

2007 Volvo XC90 fault codes-ECM P030000, P030100, P030300, P0304000, what do they mean?

first code means random/multiple misfire cylinder (s) detected
second code means misfire detected number 1 cylinder, third code, miss=fire number 3 cylinder fourth code misfire number 4 cylinder
causes can be spark plugs, HT leads, ignition coils, injector, wiring fault, low compression/ engine mechanical fault

P0300 engine code

Random cylinder misfire, you will need an OBDII Scanner with MODE 6 to see what the miss count is to help find the offending cylinder.

You may get lucky and get a P0301 though P0304 code to tell you which cyling but then you may not...

Then after you find the offending cylinder you will have to figure out why its running bad... Plug, coil, injector, compression or vavle problem.

What is the meaning of 98 Honda Civic error codes P0300 P0303 P0304? Engine will not start, does not seem to fire.

P0300 indicates that there is multiple miss fire in the ignition system. P0303 and p0304 indicates the miss fire is in cylinder #3 and #4. Replace the spark plug, and wire set, and rotor and cap if there is one. Can not remember if there are coil packs on the civic, the age thing. change the fuel filter and clean out the fuel injectors with fuel injector cleaner for the next 3 full ups. When the spark plugs are removed, inspect them for condition, if there clean or dirty with carbon build up. which would indicate how the engine is running. Keep me posted and drive safe.
