Question about 1997 Ford F250 SuperCab
I would recommend taking off the tank all the way i do not know the reason why you haven't done it but i assume is the fuel lines they take a special disconnecting tool but it is not expensive at all an auto parts store may have it under 10$ if it is another reason then you can just let me know and i can help. the lock ring has a few edges where you can use a hammer and chisel or screw driver and make it turn counter clock wise and reverse this procedure to instal make sure the tool you use is not very sharp and let me know if this helped or need further assistance thanx.
