- Not only does it over heat, its died on me two time and the extended warrenty people took two weeks to ok fixing it!! And to top it off the oil pan is easily torn off. Avoid this bug. I've had 5 VWs before this and tell everyone the new bug s have issues. - Guest

The problem more than likely is the water pump. Like many VW's the water pump is plastic and it starts to fall apart after 50,000 miles. Coincidentally when you warranty ends.
