Question about 2004 Dodge Ram 1500
Maybe the "safety" relay is shorted or bad. My 04 Ram 1500 has a relay that will leave the lights on for about a minute after you turn off the truck ONLY if you shut the truck off with the light switch in the on position. you could have a short to that relay causing it to randomly turn on your lights. Try shutting the truck off with the headlights on and cycle the switch from off to on to off again, that will over-ride the relay. if they stay on, I'd bet thats the problem.

P0121 is throttle position sensor/switch A circuit range/performance problem...
you need a new throttle position sensor, like $50 at autozone. you unplug an electrical connector, unscrew 2 hex screws, put the new one on and redo the two screws and electrical connector... DONE

I replaced the TPS. It seems to be running better, but too soon to tell. The code has cleared. In town mileage is up a little. And I have not smelled the odd exhaust, rich fuel smell again. My truck has 144,500 miles.
So, why my lights come on(high beam) for no reason when the truck is turned off and with the switch is turned off is still a mystery, unless the short in the TPS was causing it. When you start the truck and drive a few seconds the lights would go off??? Like I said too early to tell on that part. It had been raining the night this happened, so I don't know if I have another shorted wire somewhere??
