u need to get a special tool for pulling asnd installing the pump's pulley, as soon as you get the pulley off the pump is easy to remove, Autozone and Kragen loan this tool with acredit card secrity deposit.

you dont have to take it off. remove the 2 15mm bolts and pry the bracket sideways w/ a prybar. This shortens your time. You most likely have a 90amp alternator so it should be small enough to slide through.

Have you taken off the pivot bolt or bolts at the bottom of the alternator? It might be a long single bolt or two short bolts where it attaches at the block.

Call around your local scrap yards or auto salvage. With the engine size and year they should be able to fix you up with a new bracket for cheap. Some will even let you take it off yourself for a better price. Hope this helps.
