Where under the hood of 1995 camry coupe is the air conditioner located?

Air condition compressor is on the engine just below the alternator, depending on model camry you asking about. You need to get workshop manuel for your model. Depending on what exactly are you looking for, there are various parts to the air condition system that are under the hood, as well as inside the vehicle.

Air conditioning problems

First check that all electrical connections to/from your air conditioning components are tight and secure with no broken or chaffed wires and connectors, or oil swollen connection points. Then check that all fuses and relays involved in the operation of your air conditioning system are operational. If all is good, then remove the belt around the air conditioner compressor pulley. Get a wrench and try to turn the front of the compressor pulley. It should turn with little to no resistance. If it wont move or is very hard to turn, it is probably locked up and needs repair or replacement. If it moves, then the compressor part is OK, but your clutch would likely need replacement. Some model cars its cheaper to just replace the whole compressor than to rebuild the clutch. Jaguar sounds expensive - I would seek out a junk yard. Good luck.

I have a 1993 Chevy S-10 4.3L automatic. The heat won't shut off. It pours out regardless of the position of the climate controls. Coolant level and condition good. AC would work but. Thanks.

Does the A/C belt drive any other devices. Can I remove/cut the belt without affecting the vehicle performance other than no air conditioning operating. Problem is Air conditioning pump bearings very...

  • I'm over here across the pond and trying to locate a diagram of your engine. Here is how it works either way. If your AC is hooked up with the rest of the drive line items and everything is on ONE belt then you cannot.
  • However, if your compressor is hooked on its OWN belt to the crankshaft pulley then that belt only runs the compressor, smile and cut/remove the belt, it will be fine.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

The engine of my bmw 5 series 2003 model is vibrating whenever i on the air condition, what is the cause and the A/c will cool at-times and not cool at-times but suddenly it stops cooling yesterday,

ask a local mechanic with a proper AC regas machine as i think you may have too much gas in the system ,it will need emptying and regassing to the correct weight of gas

My a/c compressor in my 1998 mitsubishi eclipse in seizing up and sticking causing my engine to lose power and cut off in drive and idle

I would suggest that you have the A/C pump replaced. In the mean time you can remove the A/C belt, even if it's the entire serpentine belt and replace it with a shorter one to eliminate the A/C Compressor. If you go to your local parts store and ask for a belt for that model car they will ask if it has air conditioning or not, tell them that it does but you want the belt for the non air conditioned model and a mounting diagram. This will leave you with no air but in a short while the compressor is going to burn that belt off anyway.

Power steering stops when I turn on the air conditioning

YES. or the belt may be slipping. does the a/c work? if the belt is tight and the a/c does not work, then the a/c compressor is trying to sieze and will need replacement. if you dont need the a/c disconnect the wires to it.

Replaced air condition compressor an is cranking but not starting

Check the crank sensor that is stuck in the block right by the A/C compressor. You had to unplug it to replace the compressor.
