Question about Honda Odyssey

1 Answer

I have a 2002 Honday Odyssey and the rear windows open outward. I am having issues with sometimes they will open and not close with out pushing in on them or pulling out some. Sometimes, I can not get them to open at all. One of the windows will not seal good and water can leak in it when going through a car wash or just washing the car with a water hose.

I am talking about the rear windows on the back of the van, they are located on the right and left side of the van. The windows open out and and close in. I have a switch on the drivers door for both windows. The doors are fine, they open and close with no issues.

Hi.

If you are talking about the sliding doors, then the problem is the door sash and guides that must be replaced. Honda recently issued a recall for newer Odyssey model, but it does not apply to the 2002 model.

I uploaded two service bulletins showing the repair here. The bulletins refer to the next model after yours, there shouldn't be much difference.

Please use either one of the links below, they contain the same download:

Try here if the other one does not work.

    Hi.

That is also a common problem.

The repair is done removing rear panel, removing the internal heating ductt in the corner;. removing the window opening assembly. Testing motor by energizing. In your case the motor is good. near to the motor there is a cutoff connected to the motor. That is failing and it is cutting off preventing the motor from closing the window completely. At least it is like that in many similar cases. If it is not that, then the problem is mechanic. In that case you need to undo the window drives and everything back there until you find the problem. The cutoff is not sold separately, but it is part of the motor assembly, that costs over $100. The part can be bypassed by jumping it.

Try also the tricks suggested in the link below, try also disconnecting battery ground for ten minutes, that is a power reset (have radio anti theft code ready if needed)a:

I have 2002 Honday Odyssey. Recently, the alarm goes off randomly. Is there any way to permanently disable alarm? Thanks.

No, but your problem might be located in the hood latch. Try unplug hood latch harness(letter A). If alarm return to normal leave it unplug or replace hood latch(letter C). Alarm system should work normally if you leave harness unplug. good luck.

Right rear window of 2004 Honda Odyssey will close.

you can close it by pulling the door panel and removing the electric motor that raises the window, then lift the window closed and reinstall the motor, but the motor is most likely defective so if u go to all that hassle just replace the motor.

2004 honda odyssey ex

We just got ours, and it does the same thing sometimes, on the driver's side.
I realized that sometimes it isn't opening QUITE all the way, and that if I push it open about 2 more inches until it stops, it will now close using the handle.
