Question about 2006 Buick LaCrosse

1 Answer

My mom has a 2006 Buick Lacrosse. The driver's side front door will not open from the outside or inside. Her normal mechanic says they'd have to remove the interior panel, but they'd have to be able to open the door to do that. Duh! The lock appears to be operating normally. Seems to be the latch. Any solutions?

Your Mom's mechanic is correct. You need to remove the panel. I'd first try just removing the plastic behind the lock slide if you can and pulling on the control rod it's attached to, just to see if that helps.
To remove the panel you will likely destroy it as that's the only way to get in there. Not a huge problem as there are likely quite a few replacements available at local scrapyards. (best to find one before tearing up the old one). Hopefully, the problem isn't in the latch because you can't remove that without opening or destroying the door. (most times you can make the latch work at least once even if it's broken though) I know you are thinking there must be a better solution, but unfortunately there isn't.
Good Luck!!!!

2011 buick lacrosse door lock does not work on drivers door only.

There could be many problems in this situation. Here is a list of some things to check:

1.) Check the wire connection in the door jamb where the wires transfer from the vehicle to the door. Sometimes these connections get a little off and things start acting goofy because the door being open and closed all the time(nothings perfectly designed).

2.) Check the relays in the fuse box, I can't remember if on this model vehicle if they used separate relays for each door or just one for all of them, but the relay could be bad.

3.) Check the locking mechanism inside the door by taking off the door panel and using a multi-meter and a 9 volt battery. I've checked the locking mechanism inside doors with a 9 volt battery before to make sure the mechanism was able to do it's job without being hooked up to the vehicle's power source

Change turn signal flasher on 2006 Buick LaCrosse

turn signal flasher is usually located, in most vehicles, in or under and in back of the dashboard glove box, or in the area of the fuse box..which could be under the dash on the driver's side, or with the door open.... where the side dashboard meets the door frame on either driver's or passenger side.

2006 buick lucerne back doors won't open

My friend just had this problem and he reached in and pulled the inside door handle back as far as it would go, and then let it go, allowing it to 'snap' back. For some reason this fixed it. We have no idea why. By doing this on one door, both rear door locks freed up and the rear locks are now working. Before, both rear locks were stuck and you could not open the doors from the inside nor the outside. Not sure why it works, but maybe it will work for you!

If the mechanism is broken you will have to go to the dealer, or the parts store, I can get the handle only through my supplier for $40. Advance sells them for about $60.

www.thepartsbucket.com is my site if you want to get in contact. Thanks.

The driver side door locks and unlocks but it wont open at all

Looks like the lock itself has a problem in this that's why it wont open or there's something that makes the door stuck even though you lock/unlock it, It's best to replace the side door lock immediately. or better check if there's any elements that are inside the side door that makes the door jammed.
