Sounds like a fuel promblem change your fuelfilter and go from there goodluck.

I would ck for fuel pressure at carb, if it has pressure then i would suspect the needle and seat are leaking causing to flood with fuel when trying to start up., if the carb is the issue then repl needle and seat in carb.

At idle truck is fine but over time started losing power. now it misses at times and boges down and acceluration. what would cause it?


A dirty fuel filter causes this type of problem, simple fix and you can buy the fuel filter at Auto Zone or Napa and they will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done if your not sure how to replace it.

Car is boging out in park and will not go over 3000 rpm in park and throttle all the way to floor. also i get the scent of burned oil coming from underhood. on a 2000 jaguar s type


If it only stops at 3000 rpm in park, it probably has a governor to prevent you from revving it over 3000 rpm with no load on it. That isn't very good for engines. As long as it goes over 3000 while driving, don't worry about it.

2001 grand prix gt 3800 engine started boging down changed fuel pump and filter still doing it sitting still at high rpms it boges an its like its loosing throttle


try taking the oxygen sensor out of the manifold by the firewall and take it for a ride,it sounds like u have a plugged catalytic converter,by removing the sensor your givin the pressure somewhere to escape,if u do have to replace the cat converter i would suggest putting a factory converter on it because if u dont, the check engine light will come on due to the fact that aftermarket converters only have three of the four precious metals required to work properly thats why they are cheaper
