Question about 1993 Honda Accord

1 Answer

Regarding my 1993 Honda Accord, thanks to FixYa I am disconnecting the battery when not in use, since no one can find the slow leak in the car. Yesterday I went to an auto supply store and the clerk put in power steering fluid, filling it to the brim. When I got home, there was a lot of fluid on some engine parts under the hood and the power steering container looked like at least two thirds of a cup of fluid was gone. What is my best solution to this? I have not had luck with mechanics in my area and would like some input from people who know about cars. Thank you.

Filled to the top is overfull. There has to be room for fluid to expand when it heats up and the p/s fluid will get very hot when in use. There is a fullmark either on the resivoir or the dipstick and it should not be filled past that.May wanna take it to the car wash and clean the engine compartment.P/s fluid can be hard on rubber components not designed to handle it like belts and radiator hoses.Good luck!

Slow starting and after you drive about 15 miles it cuts back as if its going to cut completely off. If you pull over for a few seconds and then start again it will stop and then start again about 10 miles

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Regarding the slow starting, I strongly suggest that you have the battery charged for it may be weak. Regarding the cut of when driving, there must be a problem on the coil pack. It may have electric current irregularities which may cause the vehicle to cut off. I suggest that you replace the coil pack as a first course of action.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I have a 93 honda accord and whenever i start it, it just start shake. when i put it on drive, its like theres no accelaration

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you check out the vacuum hoses. If there are disconnected or worn out vacuum hoses this issues can occur. Please have them secured and replace worn out vacuum hoses.

If the vacuum hoses are good then have an automatic transmission fluid replacement. If the fluid is burnt this issues can occur too.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I lost the radio code to my 1993 Honda Accord Ex. The battery was disconnected and now the radio needs to be reset. What can I do?

You need to contact dealer and provide them your VIN#. It's theft deterrent radio and dealer is only source for code. TIP: when you get code write it down in your glovebox with a Sharpie

Honda accord 2004 4 cyl a/c completely stopped working suddenly

You could have a slow leak. Once the charge goes below a set point the pressure switch will not allow the a/c to turn on. Have the freon level checked?
