SOURCE: bmw 520i 1999 abs/asc lights on diagnostic

Check to see if your brake pads and rotors are in good condition. Or if you have replaced the pads yourself and have not reset the wheel sensors this would cause the ABS Antilock Brake System light and the ASC Automatic Stability Control light to stay on as the ASC uses the ABS brakes with computer assistance to control the car

The locking bolt is badly adjusted. You will need a Torx screwdriver to loosen the securing bolts and lower the bolt just a little. After that you will need to thoroughly inspect the geometry of the body of your car, there has been some deformation.

SOURCE: My BMW 520i starts up

If the engine cranks but fails to fire, the car may be flooding due to a failed temperature sensor. There are several, but the most likely problem would be the water temperature sensor.
If the engine fails to crank when hot, the starter motor is failing and will need to be replaced.

Hi - I have a BMW 520i (1997) which I have had off the road for a few months. I have tried o start it but all I get is a knocking noise from the top of the engine, the engine does not turn. I have...

Have you determined that the starter is getting the voltage/current at its terminals? It is unlikely that the starter seized after only a few months. If you have someone else available, have them hold the key to the start position while you hit the starter motor with a hammer. If the starter begins cranking, your problem is likely sticking brushes in the starter motor. If that's the case, remove the starter motor and disassemble to address the problem or get another starter motor.

My 2001 520i BMW 2001 model has stopped blowing heat/ac. It was working fine when I last drove it for about 100 miles. But then the next day it didn't work at all. Even front and side windows demisters...

Hi there,
I had the same problem with my 325 coupe. I had no blowing air and the only heat i got was coming from the engine. I got an auto electrician to look at this and he found it was the heater motor resistor that was broke. I got mine from BMW and cost me about £120.00. I hope you can get it sorted.
