Hi Black smoke from exhaust means the engine runs very rich - too much gasoline goes to the engine which most likely means there is something wrong with fuel- or ignition system. For example this may happen when one or two cylinders misfire. You can check for spark by looking at the tach needle making small movements while cranking the engine over. If the needle make small movements then you have spark. It is suggested to buy a can of starter fluid. Spray in the air filter for no more than two seconds. However there are various reasons as to why your car cranks but won't start, please check the bellow links related to your query:- http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/troubleshooting-a-car-that-wont-start.html Thank you for contacting fixya.com
- blue or white-blue smoke means burning engine oil.
Pull any fuses to deflood. Also holding the gas pedal to the floor while cranking prevents the fuel injectors from working till the engine actually starts up.
Put the pedal to the floor. Start the engine. Repeat till it does start. Also pull the injectors out attached to the fuel rail, pressurize the system(fuel pump jumper plug), and watch for leaks. Maybe try leaving them overnight with a dish under them to see if they slowly leak.
Or send them out to get tested.
Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.
