Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

I had my battery changed this morning at Autozone because they said it was low. The past couple days it was not starting right. after I got it changed, I started home and the car was idioled very low when I had the air conditioner on. It ran fine when the air was off. Could my problem be something else?

Have your charging system checked, your voltage regulator could be bad and the regulator is located inside the Alternator. If the regulator is not charging at least 13.9 volts , This means it is most likely that it is bad. Replace the alternator to fix the problem correctly.

Hello
The engine in your Honda is controlled by a computer and has fully electronic ignition as part of the electronic fuel injection system, whenever you experience a fault like this a fault code is recorded in the memory of the systems computer (called the PCM). So the 1st step to resolve this issue and find the problem is to have the fault codes read with a special tool called a scanner. Autozone and other stores like Autozone do this fault code test for free.

It may be but not for sure. Your oil pump may have gone bad. I would check the engine and see if you have a leak somewhere around the belt. Has your check engine light came on any? If so, you need to get it scanned for codes. Autozone and other part stores offer the same service. When you say pulse, are you meaning it takes off without you pressing it down?

Motor started tapping loudly as if there was no oil, oil level was fine, changed oil sound quieted after 20 minutes, sound came back a couple of days later, went away the last couple of days on short...

hi this could be due to your hydraulic tappets, these will start to rattle if the oil has been low at some stage and the oil was to thin this normally sounds worse in the mornings on first start and gets quieter as the day goes on or disappears altogether, what you could do, is use an engine flush, put it in the engine and run it for a period of time, then empty the oil and refill with a thicker grade oil and see how that goes..hope this helps

unhook your car battery for about a half hour. hook it back up and see if the lights are off now. all the codes should reset, drive the car over to autozone and have them test the charging system to see that it is operating correctly. also if your radio is of the anti-theft variety make sure you know the code to activate it and how to enter it.
