Question about 1995 Geo Metro

My geo runs really rough at an idle and when driving it acts like it bogs a bit almost like the timing is not advancing.I hav done a complete tune up egr valve is clean and works and the check engine light is off so I cant get it diagnossed.Need some good advice.

I would have the catalytic converter checked. If it gets to clogged up it can have that effect on a cars performance. It can even cause your car not to run at all. MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor, if it has one, could also be dirty and causing a problem. A weak fuel pump or a clogged fuel filter will also give these kinds of symptoms. I hope this helps.

My car has rough idle, what is wrong

First thing I do to older cars is a compression test on the cylinders. If they aren't up to par, I advise customers to not invest money into it. Unless they want to replace/rebuild the engine.

Car idles fine, but sputters, bogs and dies if gas pedal is pressed.

new spark plugs this decade. (a tune up?0
the filter is part of all 60k tuneups. letting it clog wrecks good pumps.
my wild guess, its lack of fuel flow, do to old filter.
or low fuel pressure.
car is identical to a Corolla. so is not unique or rare as some Geo cars are.
the cam belt not changes, invites valve kissing piston tops. BOOM
end of engine. (costs more to fix then worth of car)
the word is bogging, my engine bogs
if if bogs WOT (wide open throttle) and dont catch up < ITS NOT THE TPS. ever.
tps bad causes short bogs, called hesitations.
The map sensor , is what measure air flow and the ECU matches fuel to this air flow.
my guess, is it does that, but fuel pressure is like 15PSI, bad.

Car idles well, but when the throttle is opened, the engine has no power. This happens in neutral, or when the car is driving.

old post. (my specialty is electrics, ECU and bad running engines)
PRIZM is a toyota corolla , makes books and a parts 100 x easier to get and help, for sure, Totota has vast cars on the road.

Q1: ever get a full tune up this decade. even just spark plugs.
ever put a new cam belt on it at 60k miles, (repeats)\
if not it will ship, and there will be now power, from the engine much.
I use my timing light its a 5min job, oh look timings way off
cam slipped, all in 5minuts work, nothing is more easy.
the power loss is misfire, can be felt. if not that can be low fueling rates call clean bogging and does not catch up.
It seems yours dont catch up. so can be bogging,
and low fuel pressure, but i check spark first and new spark plugs
if car is never serviced, yah, spark plugs and cam belt tops the list of owner ignoring deals.
are the spark tips white or black, takes my 5min to yank one plug
omg the gaps, I can use my hat to gap it, old as the hills plugs.
or are black (running rich as a pig)
or soaked in oil
or soaked in green antifreeze, looking in 5min or all 4 in say 15min. wow the #1 all time way to see whats up

05 tahoe oil pressure shut off car

Were there any engine noises such as a lifter tick? If it were mine I'd be installing a manual oil pressure gauge to verify what the oil pump is up to. There were issues with the oil pump pickup screen o-ring. Either way, it should be looked into.

1993 gmc jimmy slt when started wont idle just gos to a rough idle that shakes the truck then dies out when running if i give it gas will just bog and if i slitly tap the pedle a little bit really fast ...

There are a number of sensors and controls that can cause this problem (mainly MAF, TPS, IAC motor, EGR valve, O2 sensor) and you will have to figure out which one (or more) is causing the problem. First check for error codes with an OBDI code checker and follow up on the results.

99 chevy tracker is running very rough, hard to accelerate

tune up ever in 30k?

change plugs.
unscrew them, 1 at a time ,set the gap to spec, screw back in and set to 25ft/lbs torque.

is the check engine lamp on while driving.?
