This may sound odd but... Try changing your rear differential fluid.
I had the same issue & we that it was the barrings, nope. Tried the axle joints, still popped. Then I read about someone else having that issue & they flushed & replaced their RD fluid & within a few days all was well.

Fourwheel drive locks in but when the first resitance the front starts popping. even just driving on flat smooth surface if you turn the wheel left or right something in front differential pops.

After a real serious visual inspection...
& after the vehicle is jacked up and totally secure... try wiggling the wheels by yourself... No play at every joint is what you are looking for... (but keep in mind these thing do tend to fail in pairs).

Still seeing nothing wrong...

Draft a buddy & both of you push those front wheels in opposing directions...
keeping an eye on ALL your U-Joints and/or CV-Joints...

CV = "constant velocity"

That popping is coming from at LEAST one of those.

Still seeing nothing ... get out the manual... for cleaning & repacking your front steering knuckles (also identify the necessary LUBRICANT & necessary torque settings)... in the process you are going to find something SERIOUSLY out of round...

Look closely If any of those bolts are Allen or Torx so your
job does not get stopped for a missing wrench.

You can get a really good idea for parts costs... from ROCKAUTO.

Popping is the last sound before BANGING & smashing...

Hope this is helpful.

Happy hunting!

rear: pop trunk, may need to remove a panel to reveal the assembly. same directions.

Loud slam & jolt after touching breaks & loud pop in sharp turn

First the obvious, I can't tell by sound descriptions. But it is helpful nonetheless. Have you visually inspected wheels? Removed wheel and looked at brake pads? Calipers sticking? Have they ever been rebuilt? System purged of old brake fluid? Are blazers front wheel drive? or even 4 wd? then front drive system is causing noise when steering. Not front driven? Then I don't have a clue.

Wobbly front end w/ a pop noise when turning

on the wobbly have the tires inspect for posible broken belts, or rotate the tires and if gets better that means you have broken belts on one or two tires and need a new one, and on the poping just have it inspect for an auto repair, you can fin one here for your area in the home page just look for services and type your zip code
