Question about 1990 Jaguar XJ6
The frantic truth of the matter is that the manufacturer who built your car are the only who are in the best position to produce another key for your jaguar.
This is because the new key has to be programmed in such a way that it will have total control of all the security system, locks and ignition in your vehicle so that there won't be problems with your security system in the nearest future.
Another car dealer might generate a key which might control the ignition and few locks but believe me you will have problems with your security system sooner than you expect.
So the solution is to contact your manufacture and request for the production of another key for your jaguar.it doesn't cost much.
Thanks for using fixya..

Testimonial: "Thank you, it's a 1990 so I don't think it has a security system though... I am going to try and get a hold of Jaguar on Monday."
You will need to contact your local Jaguar dealer and give them the VIN number so that they can remake your key, or order you a new set of keys. You will need the VIN and proof of ownership(title) to get your new key.
