Question about Lincoln Town Car
This motor is called an actuator, this is located on the heater box and is held in by two screws, the problem is that this is a 1997 and may or may not use actuators, some models depending on if you have auto temp control use actuator and some dont, there are some that use vacuum and motors, you will neeed to look at the heater box and see if it has vacuum operated doors or actuator operated doors.the heater box has doors to control the air flow and the air temp and also the circulation.i will look at a diagram and see what i find. also the most common problem would be an actuator if it uses one or if vacuum check for a vacuum leak, in the engine coming off the intake is a vacuum line that runs to the pass/side agianst the firewall then goes inside by the blower motor area, make sure that line is good and has no leaks, then check under the dash for any lines knocked off. okay, if you have the actuator you will need to locate the correct one as there will be a few of them and the easy way for you to do this is to locate one at a time and then you will watch it as you move every control on the heater control, for example first go to hot and watch it then cold then push the recirculate button and then the vent button this is for the air if you want to reuse the inside air or you want the outside air. next is the selector buttons do defrost then vent then floor, you will move them all until you find the one that doesnt work, if you move the temp control and the motor moves then thats the motor but its working now, hope this helps and heres a picture of the actuator.
