First check the fuse which controls the parking lamp. The fuse is located under the hood. Its in the power distribution box.Its a 20amp fuse.On some fuses its mentioned "PRKLP".But on some its not mentioned. But its 20 amp fuse.So check the fuses in fuse box under hood first.Remove the fuse out and visually inspect each fuse.If its blown replace it. ------------- For head light switch removing. Please click the link below:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-to-replace-headlight-switch-on-1980.html ------------- This should help. My 2002 chevy blazer is stuck in park

first check to see if the brake lights are working. If they are you will need to pull the center counsel and repair the broken wires fro the shift interlock.

If the brake lights are not working. check the fuse and the switch. The switch will be under the drivers side of the dash mounted on a bracket near the brake pedal lever. The fuse will be in one of the fuse blocks and labeled BRAKE or STOP.

My husband just needs to know where is the location of the starter relay on our '97 chevy Blazer 4.3 engine, 4x4? Is it near the passenger side or the drivers side?

When you go to start the engine you are actually sending power from the ignition switch through a 20 amp fuse [crank fuse] then through the Park/Nuetral safety start switch and finally to the starter relay [located at the center rear of the engine compartment] This relay then sends a more powerful current flow down to the starter solenoid located on top of the the starter which then closes and allows full battery voltage from the large battery cable to energize and spin the starter. I don't think I've ever had to replace a starter relay on these but have replaced a large number of starters with bad solenoids and bad Park/nuetral switches. The "crank" fuse could also be bad but that is also pretty rare.

Need 2 know how 2 get it out of 4x4 2 netural (1987 k5 chevy blazer.)

IF you put the vehicle into park it should release fairly easily. Do not try to force it. If park doesnt work try nuetral but I believe on that it is park.

Chevy Blazer 4 x 4 and Engine Light Problems

To your problem with the air bag, I was driving an 07 GMC Sierra 1500 that was doing the same thing. Next thing the charges went on the seat belt tensioners, luckily I was parked because the belts gave me a pretty violent **** back. Turns out the SDM was corroded and caused the action, and there was no reason the air bags didn't deploy as well other than pure luck. I would say get it checked by GM, you don't want to mess around with safety systems. You can visually inspect the integrity of the SDM, it's located under the driver's seat, unfortunately I think the seat has to be removed to see it. Mine had a calcium like build up all over the external casing.

Engine coolant heater cord plugin

the heating element is in 1 or 2 engine core plugs in the side of the engine block , kinda hard to see from on top but just follow the wire coming from it to the end of the cord , thats if your vehicle has the option of block heaters.
