You shouldnt have to, if the sensors are installed back correctly, make sure the little copper "u' parts are on the sensor when you put them back in, quite often they fall off witout realising it. if you have done that all ok turn youre hazard lights on & disconnect the battery for about ten minutes. put battery back on & turn hazard lights off. that should drain the stored problem & reset the system. see how you go.

Replacing rear brake pads on 2006 Freestar ..piston won't move back with c clamp

I just had this problem myself. I ended up removing the caliper completely and drained it of all of it's fluid. I then held it in my hand and used an 2" round bar to beat the piston back down. once you break it loose it goes fairly easy. then bolt it all back up and bleed the brakes

I'm looking into changing the front brake pads on my '06 Audi A6 3.2. I've been told that I would need some sort of computer to change the pads and erase the brake service code on the dash. Is this ture ?...

The light should shut off after the new pads are in and the car cycles through the entire system. If it doesnt, you can still replace them and then just have the dealer or a shop with a scanner reset the light.

Ford 1986 Meteor - just replaced front disk pads, now dashboard warning light is continually on. Ho do I reset/switch it off?

is the break pedal soft? if so you have gotten some air in your brake lines and need to bleed them to get the dash light to go off. 1986 the computer on the automobiles were not all that complex this may indicating another problem like air in brake system... Most-likely or pads are dragging rotors may be warped... to reset the computer just unhook the batter for a time frame of like 5-10 min if this will reset the problem but if the light keeps coming on you have more problems that will need an expert to address.

You Can probably accomplish this yourself if you have a brake pad warning light or ABS/ASC light on you may need a BMW tech to reset the system to complete the job.

Replacing the rear brakes

depends if your car is disk or drum. if it is disk than you take the tire off. than you take the two nuts of the calliber and pound that off. than thier are two pads inside you just take them out. you put the new pads in than you put the calliber back on the roater and put the two bolts back in. after you do that put ypur tire back on and get in and pump the breaks until they feel right.

This light should turn off if you replace the pads with pads that have the indicator wire on them. The light truns on when you wear the pads down to the wires and the wires break and cause an open circuit that turns on the light. If your new pads have the wires and are installed correctly, the light should turn off by itself.
