2000 nissan exterra..the abs light is on - Xterra Nissan Cars & Trucks

What is the question?

Same as any light you get on the
dash of any vehicle

Yours is an ABS System fault code,
possibly as Wheel Speed sensor

You always have to have the car checked
for codes,diagnosed and repaired,no matter
what light you get

Brake lights stay on in my 2000 nissan exterra

it's not any of what any of you suggested - it is a $4 part called a pedal bushing and it is connected to your brake pedal. The bushing fills a void where there is a switch, that when NOT depressed your brake lights stay on. It's a pain to replace, but that is what it is. I bet you found pieces from the old one on your floorboard.

Where do i find the knock sensor for tranny on 2000 exterra

It is underneath the lower intake in the middle of the "valley" on V6 models. between the cylinder heads on the block. pretty big job. the knock sensor WILL NOT turn the check engine light on. it will store a code but NOT turn the light on. (i am a nissan tech, trust me) it will effect the timing and fuel strategy though.

Hope this help (remember rated this).
