To check the shocks bounce the truck 3 times and let it go. It should rise past level and come back to level and stop. If it doesn't then the shock on that wheel is bad. Don't be shy when you bounce it, I use my knee on the bumper and drive it down. Do each wheel.
When you have that done, jack up 1 front wheel. Spin it and watch the tread near the ground. It should spin freely with no wobble. If it wobbles sideways at one spot you likely have a broken belt in the tire. Check both front ones for sure. After that grab the wheel top and bottom and move it in and out. There should be no movement. If there is you have a bad ball joint or possibly a wheel bearing. You'll need someone to watch to see what moves to tell the difference. Then grab the wheel at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and try to move it in and out. Again there should be no movement, unless the steering wheel turns. If the wheel moves and not the steering wheel, you have bad tie rod ends that need replacing. Then do the other front wheel.
It's also possible that you need a front end alignment. If you have to replace ball joints or tie rod ends, then get it aligned after you repair it.
Hope this helps.

what size wheels and tires does it have? if they're 22" plus wheels then you'll definitely feel the bumps in the road more than with thicker rubber on stock 17's or something. also if they're big you might feel a little more pull. i noticed that with 22's my escalade wants to pull whatever the direction of the curves in the asphalt go. is it consistent on every highway or is it just when you drive a certain way? if it's consistently bad then you probably have some other type of problem.

Why would my right passenger front wheel vibrate and shake when hitting a bump?

first check the wheel bearing on that side if its not floppy check the ball joints for wear try lifting them any life in them shows there worn out,,,then check the shocker bounce the wing a fuw times and let it go if it keeps bouncing up and down more than a fuw times (2) the shocker is worn out,,,the last thing to test is the stearing arm from the stearing box/rack get hold of the wheel at 3 and 9 o clock push and pull on it,,if its easy to turn and floppy look for any bits in the stearing that flop about

Our 2002 Cadillac Escalade has a problem when pulling into parking places or making tight turns. The whole vehicle shakes and bumps and it feels like there is no power steering.

There could be a problem with the rack and pinion mechanism.

First, check the fluid level in the power steering pump.

If the level is ok, service to the rack and pinion will be necessary.

Vibation and slugish

Hi I am Vortash .. I have to say first that this is not a car I have ever worked on , but it's a car so the fundementals will still be the same . Steering shudder usually occours due to 4 things Road wheels or suspension or steering itself ( this includes the ball joints that you say you have replaced )
1/ when you have new tyres fitted it is usually par for the course that they are balanced , this is the wheel is spun mechanicaly and a machine measures the axis wobble or TRUE .. a metal weight is placed at a point indicated by the machine to equalise the weight and give a true spin.... These weights sometimes come off causing the wheel to shake .
The wheels are buckled pot holes cause severe camage if hit at speed also knocking the tracking out causing tyre exstensive tyre wear .
2/ The suspension uhits .. if they become damaged they themselves wobble transfering movement to the steering
3/ steering the track rod ends wear and become loose allowing the front wheels to again wobble and run out of true .
4/ wheel bearings worn severly
The popping you hear I suspect is the sound of the tyres being dragged one way or the other traping air and poping it out , but I would have thought to do this the tyre pressure would have to be extreemly low .. you should have a miniumum of 24psi in the front and 28psi in the rear which is increased at the by 10% if towing .

I hope this is of some help Regards Vortash

Going over bumps or bump roads, stearing shakes, pulls, at any speed fine after 15 min park

Please have a check at your steering rack and your shocks.

But I have a strong belief it could be your steering rack.

Something out-of-balance somewhere. Start with the tires, check the wheels, then have the driveshaft balance checked. Do any off-roading?
