You wore the ignition control by not turning the wheel before insertion of the key to free the lock, replacement warranted.

Whats my problem?

Sounds like you got a short in the ignition switch bare wire sound like to me. Depending on the model you may have to remove the steering wheel to access the key module then look for a bare wire tape it up if you can.

2003 Ford Escape XLT - Theft light flashed and car lost power for a few seconds. This happened 2 times on the 3rd time the car turned off completely while I was on the FWY. I pulled over and restarted...

Have the battery checked. Have your Ignition key checked or use a different key. The ignition switch could be worn out in the RUN position.

The anti-theft usually comes on when power is less than optimum or the identity of the key is corrupted.

Where is the ecm located at on a 2001 ford escape? I recently replaced the engine on my escape and my engine does not crank over. The theft light keeps flashing when I turn the ignition on. I'm thinking...

ECM is located in the engine compartment. Open the hood and before of you, in the called fire wall (up) you will see a maze of cables in a multipin conector. Unscrew it and you will find the Engine Control Module. Certainly, if you changed the engine and the ECM, the reprogramming must be executed.

I have a 2001 Ford Escape. When I turn the car off the radio will not turn off, so my battery runs down. I assume there is some kind of short in the ignition so how difficult will this be to fix on my own?

there is a wire that runs from the radio to the ignition that controls that, you would need an electrical shop to check it out or you may have to turn the radio off each time you turn your car off. walter286
