How do you remove door panel and knob on a 97 achieva

Is this a two or four door ? Front passenger door ? Doesn't have a fuse , has a circuit breaker . If front driver window works the circuit breaker is good . All power runs through the driver master switch . Take the door panel off an check power coming to switch an motor .Check for broken wire's inside the rubber boot from the body to that passenger door .

Your best bet would be a salvage yard. Don't think anybody would stock it, maybe in a rack of replacement door handles, knobs, fittings, etc. for Oldsmobiles or GM products. More certain at salvage. Don't waste your time at a GM dealership- they will tell you the Achieva is obsolete and they can't order parts for it in most cases.

The service manual. But you could search the Oldsmobile, Cadillac, and Bonneville forums for info.
I did a 1997 Malibu and after removing the appropriate dash covers, you had to pull the instrument panel, which just pops out. Then you got to the switch through the opening.

1) Make sure the light switch is in the proper position (Auto or Off) first! (My wife drove around for a week like this before realizing she had the light switch on ON).
2) Make sure you don't have any "door ajar" indications/ check the door switches to be sure they are working.

The only thing that would prevent you from doing so, would be the ammount of room in front of compressor that you will need for the tools. Other than that shure.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

In the underside of the dash, under the steering wheel (a bit left of where the column meets the dash). It should have a label saying "FUSES". You press it, than pull it open.
