It also may be the small rounded metal clip popped loose from tension over time. Alot of times people throw money at the problem to have it fixed only to end up with the same issue a few months later.

It is relatively easy top check for this;
1. Remove the two screws holding the door latch to the door.
2. Remove the door panel, you will hear popping sounds as this occurs, this is only fasteners coming out.
3. Remove the quick dissconect wires from the speaker and set it asside.
4. Remove the white liner that is 'tacked' onto the door.
5. Using an inspection mirror and light check the bottom, inside of the door for a metal clip.

(Reinstalling this can be done easily at home, with a Liberty Maintenance Manual from auto stores.)

Anyone have problems with stones being kicked up and cracking front windshield?

The same thing just happened to me. I took off the door panel, pulled off the white barrier, and found the problem. There is a white plastic connector at the bottom of the window that connects the cable to the window and the track for the power-window. The connector has broke and the cable cannot grip the connector so the window falls. Its hard to tell because it will still be connected to the track, its just a small part of the connector that broke off. I have found that the only way to fix it is to replace the whole assembly. Don't waste time taking apart the motor housing, it is a pain. I found, and bought, the whole assembly on ebay motors for $120.00 shipping and all. If you have some tech abilities it shouldnt be too bad. If you need more info, just e-mail me, Im waiting for my part and will be assembling soon.

You will need to replace the window regulator, thats the part with all the cables coming out of it. The door panel will need to come off in order to replace.
