Question about 2002 Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

I just purchased a used pontiac grand am 2002. My tag light wasn't operable, so when I went to change the bulb I noticed that the wires connecting the car to the bulb casing were not connected. How do I reconnect the two together? Do I just slip the bare wires into the bulb casing or is there a special connector that I need to have?

Sounds like you need to replace the bulb socket. They are pretty inexpensive at any parts store and pretty easy to replace.

The dash lights take a feed from the tail circiut, may be a corroded connector, pinched wire somewhere. The blower problem likely not related, maybe bad blower motor or resistor.

I have a 2002 JGC as well and its the driver side one with mine. I changed the bulb this last time and used bulb lube to cover all the metal. It worked for a mile then went out again but didnt burn out this time. I checked the contacts on the base and noticed there was some rust, scraped off with blade and used more bulb lube on those contacts too, working for now.

I had the same problem with mine and my 2004 Chevy Silverado. Gm is making the cars so that have to buy the quick connect harness for it to work. All the chimes, idiot lights, electric read out is all through the radio harness, so you can not cut and splice any more. These harnesses are expensive too. Best buy is price at $120.00 for the Grand AM. My truck was $115.00. Its F****king rediculous!!!

How do i change headlight bulb grand prix 2002

There are two bolts, 10mm each. Take off these and pull the light straight off. Just plug everything back in when you get your new light. If it is an HID Halo type light, you will need to do some wiring.

Headlight bulb size for a 2002 grand prix

You need a 9007 bulb

In order to change the bulb, just loosen/remove the two bolts holding the entire light assembly in (side marker, headlight and turn signal) Once these bolts are removed the entire assembly will shift / slide out away from the center of the vehicle. Once the assembly is removed you will have access to the wires/bulb.

2002 pontiac grand am radio

Fuses are either bad or good no in between. Bulbs are the same way. You've got a dead short in your wiring most likely. Get that fixed or your car can burn up. No kidding. Could be a failing radio drawing way too much for the wiring size.

I had the same problem. My mechanic checked it for me. He found that the wiring connection on the back of the switch had worked itself off over time. He connected the wiring and it works perfectly.
