Question about 2004 GMC Envoy

1 Answer

How do I clean out the a/c heather blower fan on my 2004 Envoy, when I turn the fan on it makes a nosie and the higher I raise the fan level the louder it is and vibrates the car. It reminds me of a stick in a bicycle's wheels spokes sound. I need to know how to get to it where it is etc. Oh yes the right tools for the job too please. Beginer level please

Empty your glove box and drop the lid down (upside down). There is a little metal spring loaded piece on the lower left hand side of the glove box. Push or pull this and your lid will fall down. There you have have complete access to the top of the blower motor. Maybe a leaf that is stuck in the grate? No need for any tools, just your fingers.

OK, just remove the entire motor and look in the "hamster wheel" from underneath the glovebox. You are going to need to remove 2 8mm bolts and 3 what I believer are 5mm bolts. I didnt have a 5mm nut driver so I used the closest SAE equivelent. Look in the squirrel cage for something in there. Possible mouse next or a leaf stuck in this part of it.

2004 envoy xl When ever I turn on the rear ac it comes in short bursts and most of the time does not even work.

Sounds like it could be a relay failing. Find the relay for the rear blower fan and switch it with a like relay.

The blower fan on my 2004 gmc envoy runs high speed and will not turn off even when the key is off

You need to replace the blower motor speed control resistor, it is located under the glove box. You can watch the repair on Youtube on an 06 which is the same as your model and year.

My blower works, but makes a noise like a card in bicycle spokes..what could be the proble?

sounds like there is something stuck inside the blower motor --- same thing happened to my Jeep and it turned out to be a dead mouse inside the blower box.
remove the blower box and inspect.

My 2002 GMC Envoy xl fan switch has 5 levels but the fan only works on levels 4&5. I heard there is a switch under the dash in the duct line, but I don't know what I'm looking for.

Your looking for the blower resistor. Its on the passenger side under the dash. Two of the wires go the the blower motor. The wire connector and the resistor can burn or corrode. The replacement is easy two screws hold the resistor in and the connector can be replace with **** connectors.

I have a climate control problem on 2004 gmc envoy, it's climate control's fan is not working at level 1-3

The likely problem is the blower motor resistor pack is defective. It is located behind an access panel below the glovebox. Go to www.trailvoy.com and do a search on "blower motor resistor replacement"

Clicking sound on passanger side of '04 GMC Envoy

most likely the blower motor squirrel cage hit the fan housing or the motor has a damaged bearing from the impact, the noise is coming from the fan which is on the passenger side, pull the fan assembly out and see if the blower cage is damaged, if it spins true then replace the blower motor, not a very hard job.
