Best to replace the whole; although just replacing the axle shaft can be the solution, but risky.

Cant get the driver side axle out from tranmission

If you have unbolted everything from the axle and it is still stuck, try prying it away from right where it enters the transmission, with a large, flat screwdriver. The axle shaft is held into the transmission by an expanding C-clip that needs some coaxing to get out. Make sure the new axle has that C-clip when you reinstall it, or the axle will pop back out while you're driving.

How di i install frontr axle on 97 eclipse

Try lining up the splines on the axle with the tranny, then tap the end of the axle (goes thru the wheel hub) with a brass hammer. Should be tight, but dont hit it hard enough to damage the axle shaft. If it still wont go in, look at the splines on the transaxle, they may be damaged.

My front differential is leaking!

I cannot see it, but I am guessing that you need to replace your axle seal. To do this, you have to pull your CV shaft out. Remove the tire, remove the caliper from the top of the rotor. Using a hammer on the back, remove the rotor. Take off the spindle (axle) nut, separate the axle (CV shaft) from the hub. Replace seal. It should pop right out. Good luck!
