The hoses don't go through the firewall, they connect to the pipes of the heater core under the cowl in the engine compartment. The size should be marked on the outside of the hoses.

There are 4 hoses on my firewall, which two are the heater core

2 hoses are for the A/C evaporator core. These are heavier hoses with fittings on them. The heater core lines should be 5/8" rubber with hose clamps on them. Follow them back, they come from the engine.

I have a 2000 ford expedition and the heater blows air just not hot air or even warm air.. weve already changed out the thermostat, heater core, heater control valve and it still isnt working.. what could...

Check the vacuum hoses from the switch to the engine compartment. If you manually operate the heater valve on the firewall (follow the 5/8" hose) you will get heat.

What can cause my heat not to get hot in my 2000 ford expedition? the heat does blow but it blows only cold air.

Feel both your heater hose near the firewall. If one is colder than the other your heater core is bad.
If they are both hot its in the cab controls. Lee

HEATER WILL NOT HEAT UP

check that the coolant level and the thermostat are both correct.
check the two hoses going into the heater core at the firewall that they are hot.
If the hoses are hot,it is also possible that the actuator is staying closed, creating a no heat situation.
the heater core itself could also be plugged, and needs replacement.

Where is the heater core hose in my 2000 ford expedition?

check closer to just underneath the firewall--it could be a smaller problem than a heater core--Ford 4.6--5.4 engines have a tube just underneath the intake manifold that the rubber hose goes bad and it will leak towards the back of the engine.Lets hope so-what i hear its very expensive to change a heater core in an Expedition.

Diagram bypass heater cord on 2001 ford expedition eddie bauer

the heater bypass is quite simple, if you look at the firewall you will see two medium sized coolant lines, remove them from the firewall and link them together using a proper sized tube, you can purchase a kit at a parts store quite cheaply
