If you cant find the leak its normally the head gasket. try topping it up and starting it from cold, looking around for leaks as it wont evaporate while cold.

Hi,i own a 2003 ford bantam(rocam). The problem I have is that I'm constantly topping up water every second day, what could be the cause of this?

The coolant is leaking out some ware, the system has to be under pressure to find the leak, you may be able to hire a radiator pressure pump, if so pump the radiator to the pressure on the cap, and check for leaks.

Hello my 03 ford galaxy 1.9tdi the problem is that sometimes the temp gauge will go up to 90 and stay there thats ok but sometimes it will not move at all and there is a very bad smell of hot water wh

If you have been using water there are a few things but the easiest is airlock.
You could have a sticky thermostat or the beginning of a head gasket problem or you may have the water pump with a plastic impeller causing water not to pump around the engine as it should, Last but not least an airlock!
The simple way to check for an airlock is to take the cap off the plastic top up bottle squeeze the bottom radiator hose and see if you get any bubbles come up if yes then start the engine just on tick over and leave the cap off the bottle for a while and you should see more bubbles come up keep an eye on the temp as well then when no more air comes out put lid back on.
Sticking thermostat are the heaters working if they tend to run cold replace thermostat or run car without for a few days if the problem is cured and the heaters colder then its the stat.
Oil in water white sludge in oil or around the oil cap head gasket problem.

Leaking Fluid

Hi Sarah, I'm glad to help!

Sarah, you can rule out the A/C because the A/C wasn't running when the problem occurred. You can also rule out any fluids from the engine are transmission for they only leak on the ground not inside the vehicle. What you have is a water leak coming in from the rain. Here's a good way to find out where its coming from. Take your home garden hose and run water from the top of the vehicle down the windshield and watch under the dash board to see if you can see where it is coming from. NOTE: You may have to move the hose in different areas until the water comes into the vehicle. Once you find where the leak is then have the glass company repair the leak. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Sarah.

I have water leaking in from above thru the electronic console, wondering if it might be coming from the roof racks? I also have water coming in on the drivers side floor and can't find the leak, any...

More likely is a leak at the windshield seal at the top of the windshield. The water on the floor could also be coming from around the windshield, water leaks travel anywhere they find a path. On a dry day, take a garden hose and with very little water flow, apply the water to the top of the windshield for a while. Check for water on the floor. The water that's getting into your electronic console is probably happening at speed.

I have a Ford 3.8 that has a leak, it looks like it was

Make sure when you put the filter on that there's not a piece of an old gasket sitting there. That will prevent the new gasket from sealing.
