96 maxima starting problem - 1996 Nissan Maxima

Thanks for the reply, I already had the fuel tank etc. checked, but will check the fuel pump, filter etc. Wires and plugs etc. are all working fine.
As mentioned I replaced the MAF, Cam Sensor, Crank Sensor, (front) and the heat/water sensor.
The two problems still exist, very difficult to start in the mornings, most of the time kills battery, and the car after some time running great just starts running badly, choking up and not revving, the fix for that is just pull out the plug on the MAF and plug it back in and it runs great, for a while.

Hi,
Please check your fueling system and ignition for malfunction. If you smell gas around your car after several cranks BUT car is not start,it seem your fueling still OK, just go check the ignition. Other things need to check are your EGR and vacuum leaks.
Best regards, Jay

First of all check the fuel tank, fuel levels, then proceed to check the fuel flow, the fuel pump, the filter and the main pump and the injector. If the flow is suspicious then a calibration is important..

Now move on to check the ignition system, check the HT coils, the LT trigger to the coils , the HT wires and the plugs. If there is low or no spark check and replace.
finally have the overall condition or scheduled maintenance of the engine done.

96 Maxima starting problem

Does it help if you cycle key on and off a couple of times first, and then try start ? (not to start, just to on position a couple of times.) If that helps, changing fuel filter may cure problem, otherwise, have fuel pressure tested, pump may be getting weak.

Sounds like your ignition switch is worn. Do you have a big bunch of keys hanging from it? Only fix would be a replacement.

96 Nissan Maxima. Has new starter. Wouldn't

Did you have the new starter tested befor you installed it? Was their a lot of corosion on the battery cables? The cables might be corroded as well cousing too much resistance for the starter to crank.
