Question about Chevrolet Suburban 1500

1 Answer

I had a transmission flush to see if that was the problem but it is still acting like it doesn't want to go into second gear. I don't know much about cars but I paid for this flush and I don't think it made a difference. Anything would help.

Truck was shifting fine. I cane to a stop sign then when it was time to go again it was like the transmission wasnt going into gear all the way. What happened

Last month, my truck's transmission started to act up with the gears and so I had to take it into an auto body shop to get serviced. Thankfully, this issue was fixable and all that needed to be done was a transmission flush. Have you checked your transmission fluid? If the color of the fluid is off, then you definitely will need to take it in for a flush and maybe your vehicle will start to work more properly. Repairs and Auto Body service in Harrison OH

Don't know if this will help however my caravan has gotten stuck in gear before and a simple disconnect of neg battery cable fixed the problem, since nowadays all transmissions are electronic and disconnecting the neg battery cable resets your transmission. Hope this helps

2002 Durango transmission sluggish when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I was told that the Transmission needs flushed and new Fluid added

Usually if the trans is acting up new fluid isn't going to change a thing, that's usually a ploy to get you to spend some money, just what I have seen.. Q: does the trans act up more or less when hot or cold, if there is a difference with temp then changing the fluid isn't going to help you, but that's my opinion, I been a dodge tech for 17 years but anything is possible with cars......

2004 Monte Carlo jumps/lurches/skips when taking off. (Automatic)

It sounds like it could be the torque converter going out. Rockauto.com lists them for about $88. You should also check your transmission fluid to make sure it doesn't smell or look burnt. If it is it should be thoroughly flushed (not just changed) out along with the transmission filter. Here is a step by step on how to do that. Get an opinion from a trusted mechanic (I know those are hard to find) on whether you should pursue the fluid flush or go all in with the torque convertor (which would result in a fluid flush as well).

1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 transmision slipps between first and secund gear

drop the transmission oil pan and drain it and replace the filter...
If you have over 100,000 miles and have never had a transmission flush before, don't do one now. just do a drain and fill. if that doesn't help, you might need a rebuild.

No gears work acts like its in neutral

Your transmission is worn out Bands are burnt and probably needs a rebuild or replacement. Not much doubt about it.Sorry bud its dead. Was it a transmission flush you had? With a filter change? What made you decide it was time to have ****** fluid changed? Starting to slip a little, hesitating when starting out, was probably going out before you took it in.

2002 isuzu axiom, transmission is dragging when changing gears

if you have 100k plus miles, have the transmission filter change and flush by the dealer with proper tools and equipment, don't go to regular home town garage, pay little extra to have the work done right especially when it come to transmission work. its also good idea to have the tranny flush every 75k if you want any automatic transmission to last. If the tranny need replacing then take it to transmission shop and not the dealer. Try the filter and flush first..good luck!!

My trans is stuck in second gear. Is that what

The town and country vans are know for transmission problems and it would not be stuck in 2nd gear if it was in limp mode. Limp mode typically controls the engine. I have seen people do a transmission flush/filter and add lucas to temporary fix the problem. There is also a good chance that the transmission has a solenoid problem preventing it from shifting into any other gears but second. Hope this helps!
