There is a short in the wiring of your interior lights. The wire has come loose and is now shorting against the metalic roof of your car. Remove the interior light from the roof enough so you can see the wires. Make sure the contacts are secure to the pins in the bulbs

open the drivers door and look up by the door hinges... if you are working on a pt cruiser I think that's where it is... should be a little lift off cover

Turn the ignition key and nothing happens

check the battery. Try looking at the inside dome light when you turn the key - could be a dead battery or otherwise bad connection and or bad ground.

The dome light in my 2007 PT Cruiser will not go off. There are no switches on the dome light itself and I can't get the lens off to take the bulb out??? HELP!

first check to make sure your dimmer swtch is not turned up all the way this is the small wheel that turns the dash lights brighter. if this is not the problem then you have a bad switch at one of the doors. unplug the the door switch at each door till the light goes out this is the one that is bad

2004 PT Cruiser dome light doesn't work

If there is a switch on the dome light, that may be your problem. You would need to remove the assembly and check for voltage coming into the switch using a voltmeter with the door open.

Chrysler PT Cruiser interior light fuse blown

hi ,
remove pos batt cable 1st
I would start examining the door switches since they are a constantly cycling part, Im not exactly sure how many accessories run off the door switches but I would examine the drivers door switch, study how the switch removes from the door, gently pull switch assembly out, being careful not to yank wires loose. remove it and look for arcing marks or soot, try all the doors, then I would disassemble the dome light itself if you cant find it, if you find the short you should reinsulate with thermoheat wrap heated with a hairdryer and maybe even some extra electric tape.

good luck
