2000 Gallant. Installed new radiator, thermostat, and water pump. Why does temp gauge read hot when it's not?

Disconnect the temperature sending unit wire connector for the gague ( not the one for the computer ) with the key on. The temp hand should stay on cold mark. Next, ground the wire and the temp hand should go to full hot indicating the gague and wiring to it are ok. If ok suspect a faulty temp sending sensor if the cooling system is full and properly bled

I meant to ask where is the transmission fluid level supposed to be on the dipstick of a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

It should be in the hatched pattern range on the dipstick. This information is available for further reference in the owners manual, to include how to properly check it.

95 chevy blazer 4x4, 4.3, v6, tranny fluid flows out top of fill tube. I have changed the filter and no I did not overfill it. Starts right up even when cold, but starts losing fluid right away (drove...

There should be a vent tube on your transmission. Check to make sure it is not plugged. Did it do it before you changed the fluid and filter? To properly check fluid level the vehicle needs to be running and warm and in park on a level surface. Just in case you didn't already know. IF your vent tube is open and fluid level is correct you must have internal problems.

How to go from V8 to V6?

To do that, you would have to change the engine and the transmission on the car.

Driver's side air blowing warm, won't change

Sounds like there is a crack in the vent that leads to the drivers side, and hot air from the engine is leaking through.

Transmission won't shift to second when cold

Change transmission fluid you may have a clogged/sticky valve body in transmission and that will restrict flow of fluid and pressure when cold. Check Fluid level before.. check wen vehicle is hot and running on flat surface. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA

Reverse not working properly

sounds like the pump is weak, or the filter in transmission is almost stopped up. either way not enough fluid pressure to torque converter. If it was me I would have the fluid changed and a new filter installed. In all of my dealings with transmissions 80% of the time once they are messing up it is too late. sometimes when you change the fluid once it is acting up it gets worse. that is just a risk you have to take though because the outcome will be the same more than likely
