Have you checked the fuel shut off switch. It is the one under the dash on the passenger side ( I think) that will "trip" if you get into and accidet. I have seen them "trip" for no reason.

crankshaft position sensor is bad. it uses this sensor to tell the computer when to make each plug fire. no signal no fire.

1989 ford escort turns over but wont start

if all you did was this...and and put a new battery in and still wont start...if you have went thru your plugs..wires..distributor..ignition coil...made sure your getting spark..if not..check your relays and fuses..preferebly one that deals with spark and timing for injectors..if everything is fine to that point...then try a crankshaft position sensor...it tells the pcm timing for fuel injectors and fire to the ignition coil...hopefully this helps.

It turns but it wont start,it has gas and power

Pull off the coil ignition cable at the distributor and check for spark coming out of coil when cranking engine over. Use a heavy rag or glove to hold the wire 1/4 inch from a metal ground. Should see a strong blue spark when cranking to verify ignition is good. If no spark, check for battery voltage to coil on the coil primary. If you have current to the coil, suspect a bad coil, ignition module, crank position sensor, or cam position sensor, or pcm. The coil, ignition module, and sensors can be tested before replacing.

Pu t in new coil and distrubtor cap and rotor put in new electronic module not firing wont start

No spark at the spark plug? It may be the pick-up coil inside the distributor. This is the sensor that tells the computer the engine's crank position.
If the ignition switch is good, you should have power at the coil's + terminal when key is on. You might check for that.

Hi help ihave a 2,3 also with a lot of new parts i have no spark on 2 and 3 cylinders it has new coils sparkplugr wires also new injectors and ecm still no spark runs wont rev dies when you try to hit...

Hello, If you do not have a Distributor, they use position sensors to make the engine fire. If the sensor is broken or loose from one end, then the sensor will be too far away to fire all of the plugs.
Sometimes with Magnetic pickups, rust will affect the sensor and block it from picking up the turning Crankshaft or Camshaft. A mounting bolt can fall out and the sensor can hang lopsided until one side will not fire because it moved out of position.
Check the sensors and if the part they appear to scan is rusty, clean off the rust.
Check the connectors to these parts.

Replaced computer in 2002 sentra, car wont start now

I assume the car was running before you replaced the computer. If you still have the old computer try it on. This will help you determine if the problem isn't in the new computer. If you can't test as above, check for power to the distributor. If no power then check the circuit from the computer to the distributor (first the fuses that are marked "Engine Control" then the wires at the connector on both ends). If the circuit is OK then the computer is probably faulty.
If you get power then check the coil pack or the distributor. I don't have the wiring diagram for the 2002 Sentra but usually power to the pump is controlled by the distributor. Please feel free to let me know if I can help you more.

Key turns, gas pump works, does not turn

Try this...

You need to check for spark at the number 1 spark plug if no spark then it could be a few things
1.crank shaft position sensor
2. distributor cap or plugs
3. pick up coil inside distributor
4. ignition coil
5.ignition module
6.Blowen fuse check both engine fuses and inside cab fuses
7. oil pressure switch
You can pull the coil wire going into the distributor cap and check for spark there if no spark there then your problem will be from the ignition coil back

Stalls when giving it gas

these were hard to fix when they were new in 1990, question:::: does it run and rev-up hi normally in neutral/park??? with a timing light does the distributor show full advance???you claim "CUTS-OUT", like back-firing ??you may need to test the COIL, TPS (throttle position sensor) and LOOM to isolate the cause,.. try those and let me know the outcome....GL
