If it has no electrical wires it is a fuel filter. if it has some wiring probably a fuel pump.if you have dual gas tanks it makes more sense for it to be a fuel pump because you have a delivery line plus a return line from each tank it may also be a fuel tank switch module... as models do vary some.

The lines are under pressure so run the truck then pull the fuel pump fuse while its still running. Use line wrenches so you don't round down the fittings on the fuel lines. Some gas will drip out so do this in a well ventilated area. Its not hard to change but it might be hard to get off, spray some penetrating oil( PB Blaster) on it to dissolve any rust around the fittings. Install the new fuel filter ( arrow pionting towards the engine), replace the fuel pump fuse and start it up and check for leaks.

How do i drop the fuel tank to replace my fuel pump on my 2006 chevy trailblazer LS. There are 3 lines that I don't know what they are used for after you drop the tank 4 or 5 inches.

their are two fuel line at the front of the tank one is the fuel feed and the other is the return line! Now the ones at the back of the tank are for emission you don't want to break or damage those make sure you disconnect all of those line and the is a red connector also at the rear of the top of the tank make sure you disconnect that. And just make sure careful when remove fuel pump it has a tight fit coming out also when your done make sure all your hoses and lines are reconnected and the red ont too! GOOD LUCK !

I removed my fuel tank to replace a leaking rubber gas line and not being very smart I disconnected both lines and did not mark what goes where, I know the small line is the vacuum but I don't want to go...

The two lines are pick-up & return.
If the two pipes are different thicknesses, then probably one pipe will be a good fit on only of the tank outlets.?
Also, when you put the old pipes up to the tank connectors they may be formed into a shape which will give you a strong clue as to which way round they fitted.?
Failing that, put something (like a golf tee) lightly into the ends of the two fuel pipes
Then, go to the fuel-filter near the engine & take the fuel-tank side connector off.
Blow down the pipe & whichever golf tee has blown out of the pipe, is your fuel pick-up & the other one will be your return pipe.
Don't forget to re-connect your pipe at the fuel filter.
Best of luck.

Cannot find the fuel filter on 07 vue 2wd,its not on the fuel line forward of the gas tank?

On 1991-97 models, the system pressure regulator is mounted on the end of the fuel rail that feeds the injectors. the Fuel Filter is under hood, driver side, rear side of strut tower, mounted on side of frame rail in fuel line.

For 1998-2002, all models have a new Returnless fuel system, which makes the pressure regulator an integral component of the fuel filter, which is mounted below the vehicle near the fuel tank.

Check this GUDE as reference.

Good luck.
