OK well first its not a carburater , it is throttle body feul injection. If you are pumping the pedal expecting to see gas squirt it will not happen. You need to use a feul pressure guage and see if you have pressure at the throttle body.If you do not then you need to make sure you have 12 volts at the pump and a good ground source. Also just because the pump will pump does not mean it will make pressure. The pressure should be at least 12 psi.If you have feual pressure you probaly have another problem that is keeping the injectors from opening.I would have diagnostic codes pulled.

How do you know the fuel pump is good ? Did you do a fuel pump pressure test with a test gauge ? Did you test the fuel pump electric circuit ? Is the check engine light on ? There is a fuel pump relay under the hood engine compartment . The right front behind the headlamp are four relays , the one to the left is the fuel pump relay .I'll send a link to a video on testing the circuit !There also is a fuse in the wiring near those relays , it's power for the fuel pump relay ! Or you have a bad fuel pressure regulator ! A plugged catalytic converter could do this , need to pull the O2 sensor an do a back pressure Test ! Hello my name is Christopher I have a 96 Chevy K 1500 5.7. my fuel pump isn't turning on. I have a new relay. good pump and wiring seems intact.I tried an experiment( carb swap) and removed the pump...

check that the earth wire is making good contact , when ignition off the relay should have power to one prong , does it ? the brighter light on one prong than the other does point to a earth problem though, i presume you have checked the fuse board , as you know some fuses feed thing's not mentioned , worth a check , keep me posted if you wish

My car will not start it cranks but will not turn on. So far I have changed the crank sensor I also have no spark to coil packs or spark plugs Fuel pump does not turn on when I turn the key. What is the...

Begin by checking fuses. Ignition, efi, fuel pump fuses. When key turned to on, do the warning lights and gauges work? That verifies switch has power and is sending power out. With key on, the coil primary wire to coil packs should have voltage.

No spark and no gas? Fuel pump fuse good? I think I would use a test light or multimeter to check that fuel pump fuse terminal has power to it with key on. If that's good, pull connector off at fuel tank and check for a voltage signal on fuel pump wire when the engine is cranking-if good signal, fuel pump needs taken out for replacement or inspection. If no signal check that fuel pump relay has power to it. With key off, pull the relay and check that one terminal has power to it-the feed wire for the pump. If no power signal at all, check maxi fuses or fusible links for a failure.

Electrical prblem

There would be a fuel pump fuse, either under dash or under hood. Check that fuse, use the test light to see if fuse has power. If not, then it might be a fusible link or maxi-fuse that feeds the fuse panel. If fuse has power with key on, pull the relay, and use the test light and probe relay terminals, key off. One terminal should be hot at all times. If not, check for power loss between battery and relay terminal-possibly a maxi-fuse or fuse link.
If relay does have power to terminal, quickly check other terminals while someone turns key to on-for about 2 seconds, another terminal should show power-this would be signal from computer to turn the relay on to prime the lines and fuel rail. If you have that, plug relay in and cycle key. Does relay click? If yes, relay is working and problem may be at fuel pump connector. If relay is not working, but you have power to it, and the short signal from computer is there, then check the relay's coil side ground. Computer signals the coil side and the signal goes to ground from relay coil side.
Pull the relay and use a jumper wire from relay's hot terminal to fuel pump terminal-the wire to pump from the relay. If pump comes on, the problem is right there at the relay-either no signal from computer or the relay coil's ground is lost. If pump does not come on, again check connector at pump-that or the wire to pump[ has a problem.

I have a 1995 dodge caravan with 3.0 engine that is not getting fuel. i have replace the fuel pump and the relay and the fuse is good also. what am i missing that i need to check?

If you can pull the fuel line, past the fuel pump, off, turn the motor over to see if gas shoots out of the fuel lines. If it doesn't your fuel filter might need to be changed. Also try to see if your getting fuel past the filter useing the same method. After that pull your air filter off so you can look into the carb to see if fuel is being pumped to the carb. Be careful if the car backfires thru the carb. it can catch fire and the flame will pull the gas to the carb and it will keep burning and get bigger and hotter. I had this happen and I just stuck a shop rag in the carb and put the flame out. Don't burn your car up, your house, your self etc.

Won't start

Well lxmccarthy, since you put a new fuel pump in, check a hose after the pump and see if any gas is being delivered. You can also try some starting fluid in the carb to get something going. There probably is just some air in the fuel line.
