Transmission is leaking from my 2008 ford escape. The VIN number does show that it was manufactured in Kansas, but because i am in Canada the recall did not include canadian owners.

What do you need? I would cantact Ford of Canada in back of owner manual with letter, not phone, if issue is the same. TEXT:

In some of the affected vehicles, the transmission fluid cooler may develop a crack in the tube below the right hand (RH) mounting bracket from thermal and vibration fatigue. This may lead to a small transmission fluid leak and possible rough / harsh shifts. Dealers are to inspect the transmission fluid cooler for a grommet and possible fluid leak below the RH mounting bracket. Based on the results of the inspection, dealers will perform one of the following service

actions:

INSPECTION

1. Using a suitable light, look through the radiator grille and inspect the transmission fluid cooler mounting bracket for a grommet behind the mounting bolt. See Figure 1 and Figure 2.

Inspection Result Service Action

Grommet present - No further action required

Grommet not present and transmission fluid cooler not leaking - Install transmission fluid cooler mounting bracket

Grommet not present and transmission fluid cooler leaking - Install new transmission fluid cooler.

How often do i need to replace my fuel filter?

SIMPLE MAINT SCHEDULE , IS CHANGING IT ONCE A YEAR, but it depends where you live, If this truck is a diesel & you live in a northern climate, change your filter once a year but not until you know for ceretain that you are buying winter grade fuel, ie: nov
Reason for this is that there will be wax/parafin build up in the filter that your ran on the summer fuel, it can congeal in the filter in winter becasue of this build up. If you replace the filter in late autumn, then tat filter will not have a congeal problem because the there hasnt been anything but winter grade fuel through it, , and its safe to run all next summer , but the summers residue will cause problems next winter , so change again in late autumn .

I own a 2001 blazer 4.3 130,000 miles. I live in the dessert and it runs fine all winter but when the heat comes and the engine temp. gets over 200 degrees the trans. acts like it's slipping. Changed...

Regardless of other issues, fan clutch, the fact that where you live, you need to change the fluid every year, before hot weather. I would install an additional trans cooler in front of the condenser.
Now other than removing and cleaning the valve body, your only choice with any slipping over a peroid of time,is to rebuild it. I say that, having at one time, owned a trans shop.
Do you have a thermostatic valve in the trans cooler lines, that maybe bad?

When I start driving, the engine revs high and barely goes anywhere. it goes slowly up till 25mph and then is fine. It just started today

I believe '02 rodeo's have buttons for power mode and winter mode located between the shifter and the flip up console. You may have accidentally activated winter mode which cuts power to the drive wheels for driving in ice and snow.If so look on the instrument cluster and "winter mode" will be lit in green, simply push the button again to deactivate it while in PARK.Hope this helps ,good luck.
