CAR IS CHUGGING AT ABOUT 40 M.P.H. BUT IF YOU LET UP ON THE PEDAL AND PUSH IT BACK DOWN IT WILL CLEAR OUT THE PROBLEM FOR AWHILE. ALSO IT CHUGS SOMETIMES AFTER STARTING IT IN THE MORNING BUT ONLY WHILE ACCELERATING. IT DOESN'T CHUG AT ALL WHILE IN PARK.

i have 93 plymouth acclaim, 6 cylinder. In park its steady idles. You can go to take off, and it will cut off, if you gas the car it will stay running, or when it cuts off, you can immediatly start it again. It only cuts off at low speeds, and sometimes in sharp turns, or right after taking off, from having foot on break. The car will do this somedays, and then other days, it will have no problem at all,...this happens regardless of fuel thats in tank. The car also burns oil, which is just another problem, any ideas on what to do?

I was having the same problem with my 93 Acclaim. I needed to have the fuel sending unit in the gas tank replaced.

Use a bottle of yellow HEET dry gas to remove any moisture problem in the fuel.

Clean / replace air filter.

How to change fuel filter on 1993 plymouth acclaim. Where is the fuel filter located

The fuel filter on a '93 Plymouth Acclaim is located on the underside of the car. It will be on the passenger side roughly between the back seat and fuel tank area. It is held on to the frame of the car with a single bolt and a clamp.

it is your computer. the ecm is the electronic control module which is the brain of your car and sometimes when the ecm shuts down so does everything thing else on the car too. you can go and buy a rebuilt ecm and make sure that they FLASH it because it wont work if they dont. it is less than $200

Cant get car to stay running

Change the throttle position sensor. it cost about $42.00 at autozone. take your old one up and they will test it for you. this helped me .also if when you press on the break does your car seem like it is triing to stall. If so change your break booster it might have a vacum leak so check your hoses!

1995 Plymouth Acclaim Won't Start

It is most likely the fuel pump. pouring gas down the throttle body will not start it, it will just flood it. try spraying a carb cleaner in the throttle body in short 1 or 2 second bursts while some one else cranks it, it should start.
