Without removing the tank the easiest way is to unhook the fuel line and clamp a rubber hose to the end coming from the tank. Then you will be able to direct the fuel to a container to dispose of the bad fuel. Your vehicle has an electric pump so you will be able to turn the key off and on many times depending on the amount of fuel in the tank or you can buy an aftermarket pump. If you opt for the after market pump it will be faster. However it will not pull the fuel from the tank directly. You will need to hook it up and turn the key on once so the pump in the tank can prime the second pump. After that the second pump will take over.

Cyphon it out with a cyphon pump. They are very cheap at wal-mart and should be able to get you down to a very small amount. An old piece of garden hose works too as long as you wrap a plastic bag around the hose where it goes into the neck of the tank. That creates a seal and all you have to do is blow into the hose and the gas will be forced out of the tank through the hose. The cyphon pump is safer though. Once you get it drained, pour some kind of fuel system cleaner in with the new gas to help eliminate future problems untill all the residual bad gas is burnt. Hope this helps.

My fuel tank is exceptting less and less fuel each time that I stop for gas, what is wrong?

It is very possible the valve is the cause of the problem, and also possible it is not available without buying the tank.
You can check with the GM dealer since it is a dealer only part.
You can also buy a used tank if you can not buy just the valve.

The fuel pump is going bad on my 1996 olds ninety eight. What I need to know is how long it will take my remove the take and the correct procedure to remove the tank.

make sure you have as little gas in the tank as possible, unplug tank , usually up near top or tank if possible , unhook gas fill tube from fuel door area , (screws usually inside fuel door), unhook fuel lines from tank closest to the tank as possible, place jack under fuel tank and slightly tighten to tank, release tank straps and lower jack, roll out free from under vehicle and remove pump from tank, reverse process to reassemble.

Why does my car smell like gas & uses way too much gas and is leaking gas on my engine out of a line?

I don't know if your stating that gas is leaking on your engine but anyways....other than the bad syntax in your sentence. You may have leaky injectors and there maybe too much fuel getting into your combustion chamber and getting stuck around the catalytic converter which will give you really bad gas mileage, smell like fuel and destroy you Cat.Converter. Start with injectors to see if they are leaking and check all fuel lines thoroughly. Also check your charcoal canister (black canister on the firewall) to see if its broken, cracked or leaking anything. If its very strong. Check near the tank itself. If you ever see fuel on the ground when you fill your tank, you may have a torn line at the tank or the seal around the gas tanks fuel sending unit is leaking is leaking. Good luck Plz rate

Can't complete a fill up without the gas hose shouting off

You said the cannister. Their is a fuel pressure valve for the tank that goes bad, and builds up pressure that won't release if the valve/sensor is bad. take it to a Hyunda Dealer on this. This can be dangerous if not fixed properly.

How do i remove existing fuel pump and how do i get to it?for 1996 el dorado cadillac

u need to jack the rear up enough in order to get a floor jack with a piece of plywood cut a Little smaller then the size of the tank, remove as much gas as u can with a siphon, take the fuel lines apart, located in the area of the fuel filter in front of the left tire, disconnect the screws around the gas filler pipe inside the fuel door, remove the filler and over flow hoses, at the tank, just get them loose and when u remove the tank straps with the plywood in place on the jack under the tank u can maneuver the hoses off as u let the tank down, also before u begin release the gas pressure at the fuel rail, looks like the end of a air value stem,be sure to replace the short wiring harness at the gas tank, its only 6-8inches long, its a must, install in reverse, pick up a Haynes motor manual. good luck to u..
