Are you sure there is enough freon in the AC system? If the freon drops below a certain level, the AC compressor will not kick on. Purchasing a can of freon that comes with a pressure guage is around 15 dollars. That will at least let you know if there is enough freon in the system. Also, some compressors have a fuse installed on the outside of the unit. See if you can locate one and check for continuity if you do. Hope this helps.

What does your radiator fill tank look like? When is the last time you changed radiator fluid? If you have an oil leak into the radiator, combination produces a jelly like substance that may be what blocks the screen. You may need a radiator flush and refill.

2008 Jeep Liberty-My heater was barely warm-blowing fine tho. Was told I had a plugged heater core and needed a new one. Had a new heater core put in and then my air conditioner stopped blowing cold air....

I woild be checking the vent controls as if the ac is working and the core was blocked then the air would be cool when the heat was selected but not changing Fixing the heater has resulted in a /c not being good enough to cool the air if the vent is not properly selecting. The point is that if the vent selection is not working properly (vacuum hoses) then the 2 faults will be related.

It is low on coolant and needs to be charged. Go to local autozone and they will set you up with what you need and tell you how to do it. It is very easy to do and if you ask them alot of times they will do it for you....hope this helps and good luck

Your closing in. There is a motor that will open the heater core venting to allow it to blow into the car. Get a heater core install picture from your auto parts dealer or car dealer for specs of where and how it is driven.

Do you know for sure if the radiator fan comes on? It should be coming on for the a/c, and it should come on BEFORE the engine temp gauge begins to climb.

Also, do you have obstructions in front of the grill? I would think that you said no blockage to the air intake, but also I could think if you have a winch. Is there any chance you have mud/debris in the radiator fins?

Bugs would be in the a/c condenser. Have you looked at the engine radiator behind the condenser? It's kind of hard to see. You may have to remove the plastic cover.

Make sure the fan goes from low to high speed; when the jeep starts to get warmer the fan should go from the normal low speed up to high (you usually will know it because it really is humming out there on high). It may just be hot enough that low speed can't handle the heat load of the air-cond and the engine in traffic.

The air cond gets the air before the radiator so if the fan is coming on low it will keep the condenser cool enough to have decent A/C performance... the dealer should also be able to test low / hi radiator fan operation.

Tell us news, hope helps.

Heater/air cond blower only works on high. any

It is the Blower Motor Resistor located behind the Glove Box on the dash. Remove the Glove box to access. It is mounted against the fire wall. This is a common problem. My 2002 did the same exact thing.
1. Disconnect the negative side of Battery.
2. Disconnected the Electrical Connection to the Resistor.
3. Remove the bolts/screws. I believe they have 8mm heads, there should be 2 of them.
4. Replace with new one.
5. Reconnect the negative side last.
6. Test System before putting the glove box back in!
7. Enjoy the CONTROLLED HEAT!!

Heater not working

Heat adjuster door fix does not have to cost a lot of money. Search for Heater Treater. I lost dual control functionality but it is way better than the $1800 the dealer wanted to charge me.
