Question about 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
Posted by Anonymous on
When you disconnect the battery in the PT Cruisers you have to rub the connectors (terminals) together and leave off for 10 minutes, it will reset it and believe me this is the solution. I had it done a week ago after replacing my batter a few months ago and losing my power windows as well. Who woulda thought?

Check the fuses and power relays first. If all is ok, the next step would be the switch(s). If the switches , fuses and relays are all good then the only thing really left would be the window motors. Hope this helps.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you
have the battery charged. It can be an indication of a weak battery or a faulty
alternator. If the battery light still on after charging then the problem will
surely be on the alternator itself. If that's the case the alternator should be
replaced to resolve the problem.
You may try to reset it to by removing the positive battery
connector, letting it sit for at least 5mins. then reconnect it again. This
will reset the system and can get the battery light off.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
