You can call an auto parts dealer and they can look that up for you. Or you can google it.. but since googel will usually take you to Answers.com, try this site; from what I found here, it it .17..http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_distibutor_point_gap_suppose_to_be_set_at_for_1971_ford_360_ci_with_four_barrel

Sorry, my statement wasn't complete: from what I found it is .17 for the gap setting, however I suggest you research the site further, or and easier method as suggested; simply call or visit a local auto parts dealer. Thank you.

200 cid 6 cylinder: dwell 35 to 38 degrees, point gap .024 - .026, initial timing: 6 btdc for manual, 12 btdc for automatic. You'll need a semi-decent dwell/tach - something in the 25 to 30 buck range should do nicely. Good luck.

No, you've got no idea whether that is the correct setting. Your car manual should have the correct settings. Failing that, if you google "Spark plugs gap setting 1991 ford mustang" you should get an answer something akin to:-

( .054 inch ) - according to www . motorcraft . com

Trying to get timing set i can get top dead center but not sue where sparks plug wire go i know the firing order nothing seems to work htis is on a 1963 ford falcon 170 cid

Here is the firing order diagram for that engine, and the ignition points should have a gap of .025 in. or a 35 degrees dwell angle, and the spark plug gap is .034 in., and the ignition timing should be set at 6 degrees before TDC with a standard transmission, and 12 degrees before TDC with an automatic transmission. If the distributor was removed then it will have to be installed correctly, and let me know if you require any further assistance.

What is the spark plug gap setting for a Ford F150 302 V8. Thanks as ever larryjar larryjar@northerntel.net

it should be .054 however You should always use the sticker under the hood of your vehicle. If for some reason your says .052-.056, then that is what you use. The stickers on the truck will have the most specific info for that truck of anything. I need the year to be more sure, also when you buy the plugs, the parts store can tell you the exact gap.
