Get the #1 piston to top dead center ( all the way up ) then you can buy a strip that sticks the the dampner or harmonic balancer and put the zero where the pin or tab is and there you go

you should just have one hold down bolt maybe two,pull out distributor.make sure you put it in the same way it come out or your dist timing will be off.

How do you replace a distributor assembly on a 1995 Ford Probe GT


Careful!
There is one bolt and clamp at the bottom of the distributor shaft.
You MUST make a mark on the shaft AND the engine so that when you put another one in, you can line it up correctly.
Otherwise, your spark timing will be off & may not run.
When removing you may have to twist the assembly as you remove it (that's normal).
Oh,, yeah... don't remove the spark plug wires at the distributor .. until you really have to... mark them well (masking tape or whatever technique you use).
