Nissan Tiida 2007 model vehicle problem the abs kicks in but no light on the dash. It would kick in while stopping at a stop street or anywhere but intermittently. Brake discs/pads tyres replaced.

try bleeding lines, that can happen with air bubble in check valve, some check valves have a bleeder on them, if not set emergency break on rear it will push fluid back to master cyclinder, for front wheels collapes calipers to push fluid back. first look at mater cyclinder if tilted up you may need to lift front or back to level cyclinder before starting. Have used a baby nose cleaner to remove air bubble from master cyclinder be sure engage break padel when pulling fluid from master cyclinder

My truck leaks brake fluid after being shut off?

i think there could be air in the system and it takes a little while to work back to the reservoir and the release of the air is pushing out the fluid. try bleeding the entire brake system from each wheel to the master cylinder see if it stops it

Brake pedal goes all the to the floor. can not

Check the reservoir to be sure the fluid is full. If not, top it off and try it again. If there's still trouble building pressure, pump the brakes a bunch of times, and then check around each wheel for fluid on the ground. If you see none, it's possible that you have a break in the line somewhere through the chassis and that the fluid is leaking out inside. If you see no evidence of leakage, and the reservoir is still full, you need a new brake master cylinder - what will have happened is that the diaphragm around the plunger inside the master cylinder (which moves through the cylinder when you push the pedal, and forces fluid out to the wheels) has a hole or tear in it, so instead of pushing the fluid out to the brakes, the plunger simply moves through the fluid. It never builds pressure, and your brakes don't work.

Warning on display

Check every item in your brake system.
a) Brake master - Check the brake fluid level. Also
find out if the brake disc at the wheel still hold
when the brake pedal is pushed. If not, brake
master needs repair kit .
b) Brake lines - For leaks .
c) Brake pad - for wear.

1994 Jimmy - Rear brakes are dominating after brake job

You need to bleed the whole system. Once this is done it should work better. Make sure you are not low on brake fluid. If the front brakes are disk brakes and the rear are drum breaks, the front really does most of the stopping, the back jjust keeps the car from spinning or swaying. But the main stopping power is in the front breaks. They need to be bled correctly, make sure brake fluid is up and make sure emergency break is not engaged. The emergency break uses a lever and cable to activate the rear brakes. The emergency breaks don't run off brake fluid...

please give good ratings, they are very important...

How do I bleed air from the brakes

Two persons are required: one to bleed and other to press brake pedal.
Remove wheel and hub of the side you want to bleed. You will find the bleed nut there. Open it a little until some oil flows out. Ask the other person to press brake pedal with steady pushing and withdrawing until he feels its tight while you slowly tighten the nut. Adjust tightness of pedal by trial. Don't forge to refill the brake fluid after bleeding all the brakes.

Do give my solution the highest rating if it solves your problem. Thank you for using fixya!

I HAVE A 1998 dodge ram 318 1500 two wheel drive the abs and brake light come on but it brakes fine when the brake light and abs light go out i have to really push the pedal down to stop the petal feels...

you need to check the break fluid level now
i do think it is too late tho
what it sounds like is air in your break system
you need to bleed the breaks not doing so can damage the break booster
you need to add fluid to the booster now as it will help and may not need bleeding
if you keep driving the way it is you may loose your breaks all together which is a danger to you and others
you need to have this attended asap it is not a hard job or expensive job
when you put fluid in the car pump the breaks every time you need to or they get soft this forces the fluid through the pips altho the air may have no where to escape which is why we bleed them to let the air out
hope this helps

Break Fluid Leaking, empties every three days

You should be able to look around each tire and see where it is coming from, let me know if any of them have brake fluid on them, if so it is a brake cylinder leaking, if the leak is somewhere else than I may can help you with that, oh and when you do find the problem I can probably save you some money on the repairs.

Air in the lines, or a leakey line or caliper, do you see any fluid leaking on the rims? or under the car? if not they prolly just need to be bled.
