Question about Toyota Sienna

1 Answer

My 2000 Toyota Sienna which has 94,000 miles on it has started making a squealing noise when I turn the A/C on. It still cools, but makes that horrible sound. At first it only did it for a few seconds, but now it won't stop. I've been told it may be the clutch on the compressor.

Makes a squealing noise when i start it sometimes and sometimes while i am driving it it does too, it is a 2000 toyota sienna

a squealing sound on start up and/or while driving is most likely that your serpentine belt is worn out. usually a simple easy fix.

Heating/Air Conditioning Unit makes a squealing noise upon start up. Can this just be a loose belt?

Yes, that is exactly what I would suspect. If it has a serpentine belt then replace it. If it has a V belt driving the A/C then make sure it is adjusted properly. If it seems tight then replace the belt.

My 2000 Toyota Echo's 94,000 mile instrument panel...

Actually it is not serious at all. You just need to adjust the dim level on the instrument panel lights. You should have a knob for that. Isn't it the one on the left side of the steering wheel.

I recently had an a/c belt break on my 2000 Sienna Van.It was replaced and the new belt continues to squeal. It has been adjusted several times and then replaced but squealing continues. I have discovered...

get away from the shade tree. have your a/c pressures checked. the compressor may be on its way out. make sure the cooling fan or fans are working. did you use a quality belt, or some cheap brand from otto zown? if the rear a/c is running but not the front, the a/c compressor is not engaged, thats why is doesnt squeal.

I would guess that you have a stretched or loose serpentine belt. Common problem.

Glad to hear that you are all fixed up!

The sunroof leak is caused by a blockage in the drain tubes. Please make sure that your dealer cleans the sunroof drains.

A FixYa rating (4 blue diamonds) would be greatly appreciated for my assistance. Thanks!

Front brakes 2008 toyota sienna

No special tools needed, just a 17mm, 21mm. I do not recommend people without training do their own brakes, it is too dangerous to risk peoples lives just to save a few bucks. Also, any pads other than Toyota's will make noise and squeal, so if noise will bother you, use Toyota pads and resurface the rotors.
