Question about 1997 Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

97 Isuzu Rodeo. Blower doesn't work. Jumped the blower motor to the battery and it worked. Replaced the resistor and it still didn't work. On the dash switch, if the A/C button is pushed in, and you flip the blower switch, the blue light comes on, so I think the switch is good (although the blower fan doesn't work). What else could be wrong?

thanks. The fuse is ok. I'll try to find the relay.

I can't find anything that I think is the relay. What does it look like? Can you see it from under the dash, or do you have to take the dash cover off?

Have you checked the blower motor fuse and the blower motor relay? check the fuse 1st, use a test light and have the engine running, if the fuse is good check the blower motor relay it is located under the dash to righ of the steering cloumn tap on it with the blower turned on, see if all at once the blower turns on.

When you find the relay you should have two B+ wires in the connector, the smaller of the two is the closing coil that pulls the relay closed and completes the circuit, the larger is the power for the blower motor

I have no pictures just the fact the truck has a blower relay. Check the owners manual, it may show in there. I would do that but I have no manual for this year. For detailed info use the service called www.alldatadiy.com, it has all the factory manuals.

1997 isuzu rodeo blower will not come on relay is good

replace blower motor and resistor at the same time to fix it. The motor may work and may have to much resistance and an old motor will burn up a new resistor.

Blower motor on 96 Isuzu Rodeo does not blow on any speeds, fuse is good. I read if blower motor on works on high only it is resister, and if works on all speeds but high is relay.. so does blower motor...

if fuses are good, check for power at blower motor, when truck is running and a/c on. the resistor and the switch provide ground, so the blue/white wire should have power, and the blue/black wire should have NO power, if it does have power, then most likely the resistor is bad. if it has no power and the motor doesnt run, the motor is bad.

The resistors are in circuit only on the lower fan speed settings.
On the highest speed setting, power is switched directly to the fan motor.
Check fan power supply fuses,
Check power is available to the fan when high speed selected.
If all above OK, apply power directly to the motor to verify fan motor runs- if it doesn't the motor may need replacement/repair.

1997 isuzu rodeo problems with the blower motor and resistor how do you test them both

You can test the blower motor by connecting a positive and negetive wire directly to the 2 terminals on the motor.
As far as the resistor goes. If the blower motor only works on high fan speed then the resistor is bad. If it works on all speeds except high, then the relay is bad. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Need help with the blower motor, ran th 12V to it and it works, but from the controls it will not work at all replaced the relay and fuses and still nothing, what next?

You need a blower resistor. If blower motor does not turn freely it will blow the resistor again. To fix it replace both at the same time.

try checking out your blower speed control resistors. follow your power wire from blower to the resistors, to locat, should be in duct in front of blower for cooling. I hope this helps, if the resistors pack is good only think else is a bad switch
