You have an oil leak. This isn't normal, and the leak could be coming from a number of different places for a number of different reasons. You can either crawl under there and find out where it's leaking from or you can take it to a mechanic. I'd definitely recommend that you take it to a mechanic.
How long has it been leaking? You should check your oil level and add oil if it's too low - if you lose too much oil you're going to have even bigger problems when your engine seizes.

2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7L overheating

it's overheating, for sure,
is coolant levels dropping? cold checked at rad cap?
"pulled over and found a hose to cool the radiator and hose near the thermostat,"
i can not understand this statement"above"
if it overheat only parked, check fan for full ops.
if overheats moving too, wont stay cool moving fast
bad rad cap
bad thermostat , they have 7 year life says STANT. (and why)
belts slipping (to water pump)
rad cores blocked (IR thermo gun it) ask
water pump impellers rust 1/2 gone?

all this assumes no coolant loss, if you have loss, tell where.,
where it leans
passengers toes (foot well)
engine oil pan? milky oil
if A/T TRANS, check it for milky too.

Mi jeep liberty 2002 fan doesn't turn on although i disconnect the temperature sensor, i have understood that if i disconnect it, the fan should turn on all time but it doesnt, i dont know what happens...

Having similar problem with an 03 Liberty. Replaced Radiator Cooling Fan Relay $82 and drill new mounting hole. Fan will not run after shutting off engine, so I'm thinking I have a bad thermostat or a bad cooling temperature sensor. Heading to the parts store now.

I am seeing a small amount of transmission fluid under my 2003 jeep liberty. what could be causing this?

A loose drain plug in the transmission pan, a loose bolt in the pan, a bad gasket. It could be coming from the power steering as well. Check the resevoir and hoses.

Just wanted to know if 03 jeep liberty sport is known for any kind of oil consumption. got mine checked this morning and i was 3 qts low! no leaks that we can see.

yes oil consumption is known between oil changes so keep an eye on checking it once a month, cuz a healthy and happy motor uses some oil! dont worry its normal in every vehicle.

My 2002 jeep liberty is running hot i have changed the thermostat and the water pump is working and the jeep is still running hot while driving. vehicle does not run hot while in park and running.

your clutch on cooling fan could be faulty or your radiators cores is blocked and restricted.also grilled could be blocked restricting air flow.

My jeep Liberty starts fine when the car is cold. Once the car warms up, if the car is turned off, it will not start, not even a click, until the car cools back off ( about 3 hours). Could you tell me what...

Can't tell you without being there but check the starter relay and all connections at battery, starter and grounds both on engine and fender. Check with a test light or volt meter (Meter is better because it will show power drop off if any) Test with key in run position and in start position as well. Don't forget there is a neutral safety switch that can also fail so check in park and neutral also.

My 2001 jeep liberty needs water added often, like

OK, you know that you are loosing coolant somewhere. What you need to do (I can't from here) is carefully look at everything that water passes through till you find evidence of seepage. Check the ground where you park (but remember that coolant will run down and across, dripping somewhere other than exactly where the leak is) Check the chassis after sitting a few hours, under the pump pulley and head/block parting lines..rug on passenger side and heater control valve on hoses going into firewall.but definitely EVERWHERE.
